And I thought I sucked against the c3 sicilian. 😕

Black took everything he was offered.

Na5 was just asking for it.

Would've been a mate in 9 moves, but he resigned on number 8. Frankly, I should've been able to win in 7 but I'd never actually played From's Gambit before (I got distracted by the prospect of chasing his knight around).

don't think he'll be playing the bird again, take the d pawn pawn and then bring out your knight. poor play.

At my club yesterday I was playing against a guy who is usually quite respectable in strength but it was getting to the end of the day and he was getting fed up with his own opening repertoire and decided to try something bizarre based on the ideas of the grob.

It was around then that we decided to call it a day.

Another quickie sacrificial king's gambit mate. Wasn't going for something like this, but when he wasted time with that empty threat to the bishop, how could I not?

Nice game that. I think your ingenious knight sacrifice can actually be played one move earlier if you wanted. After 5. ... f6?? 6. Nxg5! it gets very unpleasant for black.

Nonetheless, a nice game and well done! 🙂
