I saw the youtube video of darren brown beating 9 chess grandmasters simultaneously, the way he did it was he copied the moves of one of his opponets, and did the excat same move on the next, in the end he was likely to beat at least half of the chess players. Do you think you could do that here? Would that be against the rules? And no don't think I'm going to do this, if you don't believe me, then monitor my games.

I started that thread and it got a lot of interest. It was here in the Only Chess forum but I can't find it. The fact is that yes it would work but there is a risk of it counting as outside assistance. Either way it's bad sportsmanship, don't do it 🙂.

I think that's a big loophole.

It wouldn't work, because you'll end up losing half your games 😛

If your playing two games with people better then you, then you lose to a person better then you, so don't lose as many rating points, but you win to a person better then you, so you gain more.

Do you think it should be spesifically banned in the rules of the site? I think a case could be made.

you wont be able to match up the moves, see how he did it, then if somehow it would work for you it would be 100% outside assistance...but he was doing it with 2 people playing...

WHY would you want to take the fun and interest out of the game by "cheating"???

I play for fun and relaxation; there is no upside to scamming your opponent because (a) you LEARN nothing.. your skills will NOT improve .. and (b) it can only earn you a rep for "cheating"... why???
