I got a draw against Kwgoodwin just recently, he (like so many high rated players) stuck too close to the data base games, and he couldnt win

Actually that wasn't the issue. The issue was the large number of trades that occurred after the novelty (Nxd3).

PS. Drawed isn't a word.

He's in prestigious company then.

http://www.google.co.nz/search?en&q=drawed

Also that would still fail to make the sentence correct.

"I draw kwgoodwin"

Whilst 'google' is a nice search engine it is not by any means the authority on this. Websters is used and regarded by all as the definitive reference.

Also, you were not stating wether the sentence was correct, you were stating that the word did not exist and. as I have shown, it clearly does.

Not my experience. I find "lower" rated players stick to the database then go to pieces as soon as you get them out of it, often giving away pieces or a significant strategic advantage immediately, whereas better players are more capable of coping once out of book.

If a higher rated player goes to pieces once out of a database I must query the validity of his rating. Of course, this could be a one off as we all have bad days, get drunk or tired and make moves when we really know we should not.

All 1600 players should win an ocassional game against a 2000 player and lose ocassionally to a 1200. In fact a 1600 should probably score a win or 2 draws against a 2200 player over 100 games but would do better than that if they refrained from moving too quickly or whilst tired, drunk, etc and took advantage when the 2200 was. I know I have come back after a night out and made a few moves only to regret them in the morning - in fact last night I did this against a 1400 player and ruined a "won" position.
