Thank you for this useless post. Unlike you, I don't enjoy it when ignorant people spout off about topics that they know nothing about. At the end of the day, the people that are telling her to learn something before she opens her mouth are doing her more of a favor than you are.
In addition, there was no reason to go off at her for claiming to understand something which we know she most certainly does not. She most probably understands the most basic definition that she has read or been taught about, but has not been told that this is but a drop in the ocean as far as the topic is concerned.
I remember being taught some basic chemical bonding in chemistry at GCSE, and then thinking I understood everything about it. I was shocked when I realised when doing my A level what an inaccurate simplification I had been using. Of course, I was then not surprised when it turned out that the A level teaching was also a slightly lesser simplification.
I am sure once she starts learning the deeper meanings of relativity she will understand how little she really knows at the minute.

You're 47? To me it seems that you are the one acting like a 14 year old ... "shut up" and "get over yourself"? Your vocabulary and mastery of the language is impressive.
You sympathize with her because you probably don't know math yourself. If you did, you would understand what the other people are trying to say in this post. But what can I expect.
An ...[text shortened]... file she can learn about the wonders of Oregon, alcohol, and baseball. All very important.
Pseudo-intellectuals like yourself are so easy to bait. You just can't leave it alone, as though what you would have to say has any relevance to the world around us. And just what was it that you personally taught her with your personal attack? Nothing.
As we say here in the Pacific Northwest "Fish On!"
And oh yeah, one last thing.
Shut up and get over yourself.

Wonderful response Einstein, did it occur to you that this could really be a 14 year old girl.
Are you a 14 year old too? Would that be chronologically or just mentally?
You're of no help, you are simply a crass individual. You're not related to Bowmann are you?
Shutup.
Get over yourself.

Half way through I had set up a discovered pin on the bishop forcing the loss of the queen. Then I let the game go

I find that sometimes on this site, I play someone with a very low ranking, and I play very badly. I find this very embarasing as I am not really that bad of a player.

"If I win, everyone will say 'of course he won.' But if I lose . . . ."
I think this generally happens when you play with under rated players. You are so worried about losing a "sure win" you end up indeed losing. "Of course you are supposed to win" can be a really upsetting mentality to take into any chess match.
