I know what the problem is. 3 months ago we got a great deal on cable Tv. So we signed up for the trial 3 months. Why study chess when you can watch tv?
Before I used to watch several shows and then study chess but with cable tv, there's tons of good shows everyday and you want to watch them all.
Anyways, I'm taking a complete break from chess for some weeks and then i'll see how it goes. I do take bi-annual breaks from Rhp Chess but this is going to be a complete holiday. No studying, no playing etc...
As for goals, I do have a goal. I posted on here and other places 2000+ in 2 years.

Re-read a bok that you enjoyed. I liked Silman reasses your chess so im reading it right now as I got a bit bored.
Also I decided to make me study more I would make a chess site (michael-boyd.net) I like chess more after I wrote an article today that made me realise alot of things about my play and weaknesses. (www.michael-boyd.net/assess check it out)
Make a site or reread a fun book you liked

I'm having a hard time concentrating on chess and studying it. It feels like I lost interest. End of Feb, I was doing great at chess. Putting effort into chess seemed like a drag, not as fun as it used to be. Since then I hav ...[text shortened]... s and Master ones, gave this advice.
Anyone else have something similar happen to them?
Take a week or two off from chess and you'll begin again to play with interest for the game.
How could you possibly lose interest in chess? There is so much you can look at and learn! Openings, Tactics, Middlegame ideas, Endgame play etc. I don't think it would be possible for me to actually get bored of chess as a whole. MAybe I'll be bored of a certain style or opening, but chess? Never.

I do have a long term goal, 2000+ in 2 year but since I accomplished my main goal for now I sort of lost interest.
When you set a goal and accomplish it after a while you want to move on to something else since you accomplish what you set out to do.

I completely understand this, but for me, I have a built-in engine called limited ambition - as far as I'm concerned, my only long-term ambition is to hit and sustain 1800 or thereabouts: more than that would turn a recreation into an obsession.
I'm not particularly offended, but I'm not so sure you're right about that, the smiley would seem to suggest the opposite, and references to graphs are usually pretty tendentious on this forum. Either way, I've never pretended to be anything other than a patzer, and I've undoubtedly taken a bit hit in the current games I'm playing - probably because I mainly play friends from a forum website I frequent, know only a few shallow main lines and am completely out of practice playing banded tournaments.
