All,
How can you tell you're playing a computer? I was playing two games against "queen of las vegas," and frankly getting my head handed to me, when suddenly she was removed from the site. Using a computer? I've looked at the games for some signs, but they seem like completely normal games to me. How do you tell?

For instance, I've played against Chessmaster quite a bit and found that it always follows the same line against the English and we end up with the same position on move 10 over and over again. If this happens with a game on RHP, I become very suspiciuos.
The other was to open a chess engine and compare the moves of a player to that of an engine and see how much they match up. Again, if you don't have a program, you'll probably never know.

As I explained to him at the time, I have never used a computer program in playing a game on this site. Make most of my moves from work, and suspect they would be a little pissed off if I started installing software programs.
More than happy to have my games analysed for use by a computer.
Results would be amusing, particularly as might help Toli realise he isn't the super grandmaster who can only be beaten if someone is using a computer program that he thinks he is. Funny thing is, given that he has rated as high as 1800s, he probably would have beaten me in the end if he had played on.

and I am over everything, I just need to play some chess .Nobody plays me.
I am a cheat too but so what?
ps: Hey Loki I can beat you anywhere man, let's play I will play you especially blindfolded. I am not a GM but a class b player. If I were a GM I wouldnt play those losers here.
Originally posted by Saint NickThis is not how you know someone is cheating 🙁 Especially cheaters tend to have a HUGE opening repertoire, King's Gambit to Dutch defense to anything. They play all of them really good.

But human players tend to use same opening lines that they know well. That thay have played it before so that it is easy for him to understand the middlegame positions.
But Ironman31 KNEW ALL THE OPENINGS pretty well. And if you see a guy never losing and has a repertoire more than (doubling!!) any GM, then you know for sure that he is a cheat./ Because very good players, ESPECIALLY over 2000, TEND TO HAVE A STYLE rather than play whatever tactic that gains material over the board (computer act). Good chess players choose openings suitable for his temper etc....And I have never seen for example a guy likes to play e4, would even consider Dutch defense as black 🙁 which tends to be closed...
*edit* One more thing: Feel free to use any computer against me. I would love to test myself against a very strong chess software. Make sure you tell me beforehand so that I can use mine too 🙂 It will be fair.
But let's not argue this in a childwish way. Tolik is being a kid. If you know the other guy is cheating. You cheat yourself too. That is the only way 🙂

Originally posted by tolikcheturiIf you can play blindfolded then you are a much better player than me. I find the analyse board option is invaluable - use it all the time to track through potential combinations. Problem is when I play on a board, you can't ask your opponent whether they mind if you just try a few options.

And how would I know if you were peeking at the computer now and then? Then again, how would you know what move I had made - that sounds like a great game - you will play me blindfolded, randomly entering moves without seeing either what move i made, or what move you made.
Originally posted by NicotineManTrue with openings - I have been trying to expand my range of openings, but Ruy Lopez is probably the one I know the best, so tend to fall back on that all time.

And often find that never get opportunity because people close it down with Sicilian Defense. Seems to be very popular at the level around which I play.
