So banning of a player for using a chess engine while playing chess, is not chess related? Perhaps you did not play in these tournaments that were won by someone using an engine, and there fore could care less, but others that have played in those tournaments do care.

A rec. here too, this is another excellent point. It's funny how people want more chess threads, and more chess improvement threads, but then when they appear it seems like all interest disappears.
It has to do with chess, therefore it is here.
V's point is well taken too,
not to diminish his statement at all. You will have wildly differing conversations on any topic, so some threads will be responded on, some will be read and enjoyed (one move a day... etc.) and silently applauded, though the lesser talents like myself might not post therein.

I'm a newbie here...but it would be great if "only chess" meant just that. New ideas about the Giuoco Piano? Super. Debate about kicking someone out? I don't care. Take it somewhere else. I don't mean to be rude, but "only chess" should mean something.

Yeah I rec'd the original as well. This forum is dedicated to the discussion of the game. Not who's leaving, left, cheating accusations, questions about the RHP interface, etc...
