With Korch and Northern Lad both clinging on in lost positions
praying for a miracle. I don't think anyone will resign a game
on this site ever again.
Plan A: Do not play anyone at all.
Just wait...eventually everybody will be banned and you will top potato.
Originally posted by TyrannosauruschexI was actually playing a rather obscure sideline on an experimental basis. I soon realised that I'd missed the best line, so maybe psychologically that affected the rest of my play. When the game is officially declared dead, i can show you what I mean, if you're interested.
Was it enough to make you rethink the schlieman, now a computer has found a strong line against it, or is it a line that could have been ok if played accurately?

It was lucky that you did not resign.
Just wanted to add that bit that nobody would ever resign again
after the close shaves you and Korch had. Imagine how you would
of felt had you resigned the day before he was banned....😞

To think I held you aloft as an eloquent Scottish gent! 🙂
(I have checked this message six times to make sure I haven't made a mistake! lol).

If you look at the time of the post I'm 5 minutes
away from clocking off at work so have one eye on the clock
as I have rush like a maniac to catch my 6:02 bus.
Last week I left a pocket set on that bus.
My mate, Ed Perry, recently left three chess books on a bus.
Perhaps the guy in the lost property dept. is a chess player
because we never got our stuff back.
I also left my demonstration board in a shop a couple of weeks ago.
(I got it back a few days later). Is this a sign I'm going bonkers?
Re-read my original post again about Korch and Northern Lad clinging on waiting for a miracle.
I suppose it could be mis-conscrewed that I'm hinting at bad
sportsmanship. I can assure you that was not implied.
as for:
"To think I held you aloft as an eloquent Scottish gent"
That's OK.
I love Scotland, been here for 40 odd years but I am English.
Originally posted by greenpawn34It's happened to me twice before that I've resigned a game a day or two before a player was banned (Ironman and Meman). However, I am not so obsessed with my RHP rating that I play on in hopeless positions hoping that my opponent will be banned, even in cases where I suspect my opponent is using an engine. A look at my losses should confirm that I generally resign at about the right time.
