Which opening book did you find 3...Nxd4 in?

I don't see it in any of my books or opening trees.

Why wouldn't you want to play the standard sicilian? Nothing to be afraid of.

For what it's worth, I'd normally play Nf6 too, but I'm not very good at playing the sicilian.

Nc3, e5 is anything but boring. It's the most exciting sicillian around (except for the dragon which just plain loses =).
