because practice has shown that while white can spearhead his attack with pawn pushes, black must rely on piece play to contend as Black's pawn storm cant contend with white's.
the Yugoslav Attack is absurdly complicated, avoid it if you don't have study time

I have an excellent record OTB with the Dragon, beating much stronger players that I probably couldn't beat normally. And the AD, is as lame as FDR's legs.
what kind of person insults a dead cripple?
but you do have a point, the Dragon can tear through those that don't know the lines

uwarning: Accelerated Dragon should be only used in order tu humiliate beginners and make them second guess their Dragon lines...
obviously, the Maroczy Bind is played almost all the time as a sort of refutation to the AD
is there any successful way to maneuver around pawn c4?

the bind is NOT a refutation of the AD, if you believe so then you are clearly relying on an outdated source.
An example way to fight it is to play for a pawn break in b5 and f5 and make trades to solve the spacial cramp
