"By the way you can castle here."

That is what the this thread was about - I think.
No,if I'm not mistaking one of the players asked.Although not if he could capture EP but if there was a glitch.Apparently he wasn't aware of the EP rule. Now,of course Korchnoi was aware of the castling rule,he just didn't know exactly how it worked in the situation he was confronted with at the time.In my view the cases are comparible.

The thread is now closed - it was all a joke.

Its a rule, not a state secret.
Exactly! The rules are soooooooooooooo [lol, I get a kick out of stealing this from no.1] easy to find. This website has them. Several other sites have them. Any chucklehead can find them. There is no excuse for not knowing them, and no need for a 3rd party to butt in.

Exactly! World of difference between this example and the ones I gave.

Yes, this should be considered cheating. Pointing out a specific portion of the rules can be used as a means of giving a hint to move a certain piece, or make a certain type of move [like castling or promotion].

The correct admin response is, "No, that is not a glitch."
If you're serious, you're completely deranged.

You really think that directing a player asking a question regarding the rules of the game to a portion of the site created with the intention of answering players' questions regarding the rules of the game is cheating?

That's 🙄
