Just one more to find.

Skeets anticipated a banning a few years back and had another account

(somehow I find that very easy to believe - Skeets arguing with herself.

I think you have been taken for a ride. A little research reveals suspicious accounts relatively quickly. We are talking about someone with an obsession. Here we have saying for such people : "egg". Are they really only using the one other account? Sounds corny to me.

This may sound a bit corny, but I regret not asking Skeeter if she knew IM John Russell Dive, who is from New Zealand. His games in Alekhine's Defense are a major part of my repertoire and a big inspiration to me, next to GM Kengis.

Drama can be entertaining at times, but I'm here for chess. Here's one of his games in a very topical variation, even 18 years after it was played:

Interesting game. Thanks Paul. I've never tried the King-side fianchetto with the Alekhine defence.....it seems counter-intuitive. Not that I'm an expert. I thought that was very calm play by Black in the mid-game.

GM Alburt was the biggest pioneer of ...g6, but GM Kengis was the one who really championed it.

White was playing the Voronezh variation of the Exchange variation, and it has really put the ice on black responding with ...cxd6, in spite of IM Dive's play in this game.

Although I should add that I think no one has paid enough attention to his games...

Hi Zygalski

The other account is not proven. Skeets never played a game against it.
I've not been PM'd from it (yet). It's got nothing to do with me.
I live and let live.

I don't know why you are being so coy with the games. She is banned.
Surely no harm can come of displaying the figures for a banned player.

The number do look pretty awful but ley us look at the games.
Ran through the first one. Skeeter v ferreiraglenn.

Skeets nicks a pawn in the opening goes for trades.
Not a box steal accepting a tight position it looked safe enough.

From move 22 till the end (move 61) there 3 bits on either side.
This narrows the choice right down I would expect to see a good player
with so few choices score high. (or are we saying now Skeeters OTB grade was false?).

Are they all like this?
Short of blundering away a piece or pawn what is a player meant to do when
there so few reasonable moves on the board?

I'd toss out game one.

------------------------------------------------------------------

Just went through game 2.

Come on you are having laugh.
You will have us all banned using games like this.

Typical Skeeter plodding along in 3rd gear.
Chopping wood in the centre and picking up scraps.
Nicks a pawn and plays legal moves. Me on a bad day would have put up
a better fight as White.

What happened to the rule about good opposition.
I've just checked all the games bar the last two are against under 2000 players.

Skeets is well over 2000.
What have you done? Looked at the games as though she too was a 1600 player?

I take you have looked at the games and not just the numbers.
Did you look at Game 7696188 Black knew the first 6 moves of a KID
then dropped his d-pawn. The game was playing itself.

I'll look at the last two when I have more time. They looked juicy.
And I'll go in with an open mind.

Strewth Zygalski, I have to get up early tomorrow (today) what a waste of time.

Yes, but I asked Admin for permission before opening a new account!
I was told that was ok, seeing as the old account wasn't closed by Admin & so long as I never used the old account again.

Bit of a difference to opening a bunch of sleeper accounts on the premise that cheating & harassing other members might get some of them closed. 😉

It would help if you published his/her real name then or are you just going off a skeeter quote about "her" rating?

You need to look at the ratings when the games were played! Don't forget I analysed skeeter's games in November 2010.
Pay more attention to the historical ratings graphs. The PGN just give current ratings, for instance, skeeter's is now 1698 when she was rated well over 2200 for a considerable period of time.
User 375490
was rated over 2200 a year ago.
User 480394
over 2000
User 563094
over 2000
User 88066
over 2200

and that's all of 'em.

It seems to me the jury is still out on Skeeter being a cheater or not. In view of her forum performance over the years it is, psychologically, unlikely that she is one.

GP must be congratulated on this brilliant review, showing that the numbers(matchup percentages) do not tell the whole story.

What is the truth? Perhaps this kind of approach will help us get to it because this issue is indeed important, irrespective of the personalities involved. I'm waiting for the next instalment...

So skeeter plays more engine-like chess in many games over time that Fischer, Kasparov, Kramnik, Berliner, Oim, in fact every benchmarked real-world unassisted OTB Super GM or pre-computer era CC World Championship finalist ever tested.

What a remarkable stroke of luck that an unknown NZ player graced RHP with his/her talents, rather than cleaning up on the OTB world chess scene & being a household name!

Yes, I haven't played on the site in awhile but I still pop in every now and then to read GP's blog. My doubts about missal's account began when I noticed she returned to the site after a couple of years, much improved, and entered and easily won two non sub tournaments ( Tournament 8965 and Tournament 9018 ). She then promptly disappeared. I had my suspicions that it might be skeeter using the account. But that was it. I was just suspicious so I kept it to myself.

When I logged in yesterday and saw that skeeter was banned, the first thing I did was check missal's account to see if it was active again and it was. I wasn't going to post anything but then I thought if skeeter knew something like this, she would have posted it. So I posted it.
