One of the best was a joker at this site claiming to be a GM or NM from Switzerland I believe. Funny thing was they were in the forum posting and making chess moves online when someone interrupted them...
"Aren't you in (such and such a place) playing in (such and such a tournament)??"
They claimed to be a person IRL but didn't realize that person w ...[text shortened]... o 1100 rather than being 2000+ players. They also were removed shortly after.
Fun stuff.
then there was 'IM jean hebert' too, whom I emailed to and who had never heard of rhp. the rhp 'jean hebert' also had quite a loyal fanbase in rhp clans where he had been 'imparting his chess knowledge'. many people NEVER admitted he was a fake, no matter how much evidence was publicized. (I was fooled too at first, having just started chess and being a gullible noob.)

The thread revealing that information was deleted and I got a 7 day Forum ban for "stalking" even though the player had given evidence that led to the tournament which was available to anyone on the USCF website. I wound up re-posting it after my Forum ban and I guess the Forum Mods had changed their minds as it remained on the board. Interestingly some of the same characters who complained about Skeeter's posts which led to her ban were also those complaining about the information referenced being publicized.

Looks like the stats confirmed Skeeter was a very good correspondence chess player (good enough to be number 1 on this site). I am going to miss her. She was entertaining, unlike some that requested her dismissal. Skeeter is a feisty woman who is thick skinned enough for these forums. I hope Skeeter reincarnates herself; maybe she already has.
