I've barred my guys in Bates Motel from reading what you nit-wits
are writing in the Chess Forum.
So post away - you are simply howling in the wind. 😉

Am just at Novice level, but always see 0-0 as checkmate in waiting,
My current tactic on black is to play a pirc type defense..Not castle... leave the king in the centre... if they 0-0 then retreat my knight to h2 and push the h,g & f pawns.... seems to supprise people. but i only use this in Blitz.
find 0-0-0 is hard to defend too, and delay it until I have an attack on there king going...

I know Ramanticus put you up to this....however just in case.
The basic startegy of the Pirc is to attack the White centre.
Leaving the King in the centre whilst you attack in the centre.....😕
You do not have to castle before you begin your assault.
In the Bg5,h6,Be3 variations with this skeleton position.
I have been known to walk my King from e8-f8-g8-h7 to get my
Rook onto a central square as 0-0 would drop the h-pawn.
If my opponent has castled King-side then I have been known to
indeed 0-0, shed the h-pawn and come screaming down the h-file.
In the above postion. 1...0-0 2.Bxh6 Kh7 3.Bxg7 Kxg7 and then Rf8-h8.
This diagram will give you the idea.
Your quote:
"I find 0-0-0 is hard to defend too...."
Remember that it takes two moves to Castle Queenside.
If you have time (if not make time) use a tempo to play Kb1.
Of course I can tell you that all day and everyday for the next 12 months
but it won't be until you have been caught on the exposed diagonal
that the lesson has been learned.
You only learn from your losses.
I'm going to give a game where I forgot this golden rule and lost
a game which was published in THE SCOTSMAN because of the opening
idea I tired, (it was not new to me), the fact I never played Kb1 and
got caught on the digaonal and the unsuccessful swindling attempt I tried.
I'll have to do it on a new thread 'cos I want my boys in Bates Motel
to see it and this thread is 'off limits.' 😉
(I have to go and lift the game from another computer )
I'll call it............0-0-0 and the extra tempo.
