I think the pawns are male. Because they move in straight lines towards their goal, only veering off at diagonals when interrupted. Bishops and rooks are male too, because their moves are towards their line of sight, like sensible, solid guys. Knights on the other hand are definitely female. Knights fly off at tangents, say one thing and do another, never seem able to make up their minds, and hop around in all directions changing their base colour at every hands turn! lol
Originally posted by kellsyShe was not a knight but she was granted a coat of arms and granted the status of nobility which was passed down through the women of her family. I believe at one point they ran out of female heirs and had to got get a special government permission to allow the arms and status to pass down through the males.
Just wondering, was Joan of Ark (1412 - 31) a Knight, I know she was a French peasant girl who became a national heroine; She led the french armies against the English, relived Orleans, and stood beside Charles VII at his coronation, as I said I dont know if she was a knight but it would be nice to find a fe-male Knight.
