Just checked the game. Wow, Leko played d4! And was able to beat Kramnik in the endgame! He might be up for the title after all.

Game 6 was another quick draw (20 moves). Kramnik was White, and again got nothing from the Ruy Lopez. In the position they agreed a draw, Leko had more time left and seemed to be slightly better, so he probably should have played on. Very disappointing.

I agree. I assume Leko offered the draw seeing as it came after his move. You would think that having outplayed Kramnik yesterday he would be looking put the pressure on.

Today was definately a disappointing draw, imo.

I wasn't able to watch on ICC or similar site - anyone have any idea whether Qe4 or Qf3 (after Bc8) was better for Leko, or also equal? Looked quite a bit better for White to me.

Win to Leko

That was more like it. Kramnik will have to win another game, now. Perhaps the draws will dry up.

What a game! Paultopia - you would've been proud!

Kramnik will definitely sack his seconds after this one ...

Kramnik, with the white pieces, crushed in 32 moves! Before the start of the match I would have put money on that not happening; in fact I thought that Kramnik was going to win quite easily.

I wonder why Kramnik felt he didn't need to use any time to think about his moves.Overconfidence?

Scene: Kramnik camp. The night before.

Svidler: "... 25. bxa6 and it's a clear win for White."

Kramnik: "Hold on, let me see ..."

Svidler: "Trust me - I've seen this position many times before. My Shredder analysis says, 'Forced win for White'."

Kramnik: "You sure?"

Svidler: "Of course! I'm the Marshall expert."
