@moonbus saidYou have no argument. Attacking FMF by accusing him of being upset because he is having to lay in some metaphorical bed of his own making is not an argument supporting the silly thumbing feature on this website which is being blatantly abused by people using multiple accounts.
Gad, do I have to spell it out? I guess I do.
The ‘bed’ is role you have carved out for yourself in the forums. You made it, you sleep in it, stop complaining about it. Unless you like being the prima donna complainer of RHP, in which case, expect more TDs.
The thumbs you reap are what other people think about your online persona here.
You keep claiming that the opi ...[text shortened]... mary interest in getting the anonymous feedback feature removed is the improvement of this web site.
What specifically is your argument against the feature only being available to subscribers?
Try to answer without using a platform of ad hominem ridicule if you can.
@moonbus saidYou keep trying to project a motivation of your creation onto me when I am being perfectly candid about what I see the problem as being.
You keep claiming that the opinions of the people who give you TDs don’t matter to you, but your repeatedly bringing up the subject and your lobbying to get the feature removed belies your claim not to care about it.
@moonbus saidThe "bed" is a handful of people using an anonymous thumbing feature. Once again, are you, an adult, actually telling me, another adult, to change the content and style of his posts because a handful of anonymous people are giving me red thumbs? Surely not?

@suzianne saidsadly Dive cant give what Dive hasnt got .....Humanity.
I thought thumbs didn't bother you?
Obviously, they bother you a great deal.
You want to neuter them, just like you got alerts neutered.
Why not just conduct yourselves in the forums like an actual human? Is that too much to ask? Apparently so.
@badradger saidDo you think people thumb divegeester down because "...he hasn't got humanity"?
sadly Dive cant give what Dive hasnt got .....Humanity.

No one here believes your claim that your primary interest in getting the anonymous feedback feature removed is the improvement of this web site.
There are plenty of people here whose opinions matter to me. Who are the people giving me red thumbs? Are they people whose disapproval matters to me? You seem to think they are.
@fmf saidYou've got this all wrong. It's not what I think. You've created an online persona here. You get a lot of negative feedback on it; that feedback simply mirrors the persona you created. Most people here just can't be bothered to say it to your face.

@divegeester saidRidicule? ad hominem attacks? You have mistaken me for some other poster.

I favour kewpie's suggestion, that the feature remain as is, anonymous and available to all comers, with an option for a user to render thumbs invisible to himself if he doesn't wish to see them. Fixed.
Remove multiple accounts from same users. Fixed.
Making the feature available only to subscribers neither addresses the real issue nor resolves it.

"Feedback"?
"Feedback" from whom?

@moonbus saidIf a user "renders thumbs invisible to himself if he doesn't wish to see them", then what becomes of the "feedback" function you insist anonymous thumbs have?

@moonbus saidI once told Philokalia that I believed that supernatural torture is morally incoherent. I picked up three thumbs for it from persons unknown. Philokalia pointed to those three thumbs and said I needed to change the content of my posts. Was he right?
