If you can't do anything about it then let it go. Don't be a prisoner to the things you can't change.

Returning to my hermitage
After filling my rice bowl,
Now only the gentle glow of twilight.
Surrounded by mountain peaks
And thinly scattered leaves;
In the forest a winter crow flies.

It’s as if our heads were on fire, the way
We apply ourselves to perfection of That.
The future but a twinkle, beat yourself,
Persist: the greatest effort’s not enough.

Ode 44
BY HAFEZ
TRANSLATED BY RICHARD LE GALLIENNE

Last night, as half asleep I dreaming lay,
Half naked came she in her little shift,
With tilted glass, and verses on her lips;
Narcissus-eyes all shining for the fray,
Filled full of frolic to her wine-red lips,
Warm as a dewy rose, sudden she slips
Into my bed – just in her little shift.

Said she, half naked, half asleep, half heard,
With a soft sigh betwixt each lazy word,
‘Oh my old lover, do you sleep or wake!’
And instant I sat upright for her sake,
And drank whatever wine she poured for me –
Wine of the tavern, or vintage it might be
Of Heaven’s own vine: he surely were a churl
Who refused wine poured out by such a girl,
A double traitor he to wine and love.
Go to, thou puritan! the gods above
Ordained this wine for us, but not for thee;
Drunkards we are by a divine decree,
Yea, by the special privilege of heaven
Foredoomed to drink and foreordained forgiven.

Ah! HAFIZ, you are not the only man
Who promised penitence and broke down after;
For who can keep so hard a promise, man,
With wine and woman brimming o’er with laughter!
O knotted locks, filled like a flower with scent,
How have you ravished this poor penitent!

To see the body as unreal
Is to see the Body of the Buddha.
To know the mind as an illusion
Is to know the Illusion of the Buddha.
If a person sees clearly that mind and body
Are not real,
How does he differ from the Buddha?

Mind and object scrapped,
I move beyond plains,
Mountains, streams.
Dharmakaya's everywhere--
Yet worldlings stand about stone blind.

If there is beauty, there must be ugliness;
If there is right, there must be wrong.
Wisdom and ignorance are complementary,
And illusion and enlightenment cannot be separated.
This is an old truth,
Don't think it was discovered recently.
“I want this, I want that”
Is nothing but foolishness.
I'll tell you a secret--
“All things are impermanent!”

The real Buddha has a body
That no one can perceive
There is no other Buddha
For one who knows himself,
The sage who knows
That woe is devoid of nature
Lives at ease and fears not birth nor death.

Tao Te Ching
Chapter 81

Truthful words are not beautiful;
Beautiful words are not truthful.
Good words are not persuasive;
Persuasive words are not good.
He who knows has no wide learning;
He who has wide learning does not know.

The sage does not hoard.
Having bestowed all he has on others, he has yet more;
Having given all he has to others, he is richer still.

The way of heaven benefits and does not harm;
The way of the sage is bountiful and does not contend.

Careful!
Even moonlit dewdrops,
If you're lured to watch,
Are a wall before the Truth.

Eyes blinded by three poisons,
Yet once all ties are cut,
How restful.
Wicket hat donned,
Cane held firm,
How vast the sky!
