Dive, for example, does this on a frequent basis. (And I don't see you accusing him of being delusional).

You either haven't been bothered to read it, or you want to pretend you haven't read it, or you are busy thinking up something to say so that you can be seen, performatively, to "have her back" regardless of the cost to your credibility.
