Sin anything less than God's perfect standard. Perfection!! No man is perfect. Missing the mark. Jesus said unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees you will not see the kingdom of God. Only with Christ is this possible.

You'd think that what's relevant would be the teachings of Jesus. However, with few or no exceptions, most will try anything to avoid them as you've probably seen. By and large, Christianity has abandoned the teachings of Jesus and superseded them with the teachings of others (primarily Paul). I find this tragic. From what I can tell, most who leave Chris ...[text shortened]... anity with Truth. However most of them seem to continue to believe in the teachings of Jesus.
Really its a simple question...
I myself dont have a problem with Jesus' teachings. Especially "Love thy neighbour" . I believe if everyone loved their neighbours this world would be a better place.

There is one biography of one man on this earth that really matters. It is the life of Jesus of Nazareth. That is the one biography that is crucial to the human race.
Why? Because Jesus was the only man who ever walked the earth who was absolute, 100% for the will of God.
Fallen man has one main problem - He is simply NOT for God. He is invariably for something else. Man was created for God and to be for God. But since the fall of Adam man is simply not for God.
There were many many men and women who came along. Some were very good. But none were absolutely for God. Only this man, Jesus the Son of God, the Son of Man, was absolute for His Father's will.
Now here's the thing. God has made that biography able to be our history. God has made it so that that biography can be the sinner's legacy.
God has made it so that when He looks upon the believer He sees Christ and Christ is his history, his legacy, his record before God. God established that procedure.
Next time you're God you can establish your own procedure. But we arrived here and God was already here. And God established this procedure that His Son can become OUR righteousness.
Now let me say it again. I know some of you dear ones have forgotten it already. God has established a way in which this ONE Man who lived unto the will of the Father to the uttermost, can become our history. Then He looks upon you and sees His Son Jesus Christ.
We can totally identify with this Rightoeus One.

yes thinkofone, i read it twice, you stated that my question was irrelevant, i demonstrated its relevance, but its no use, you do not know, therefore take this as an opportunity to go and do some research and learn what Christ meant when he referred to sin.

No game. I think I'm done though 🙂 Why don't you just come out with it! Honestly I don't want to follow your Christ anyway. If you say you have no sin you lie but Christ is faithful. At least with R.C. we can argue and disagree but no pretense I know where he stands. To follow Christ is to love your neighbor and even your enemies. I only wish that I co od. Christ was the epitome of humble. Paul was just a man But he was used by God.

Well, Paul tells you that you can't stop committing sin.
Jesus tells you the opposite
John 8:32-36
So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, "If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free." They answered Him, "We are Abraham's descendants and have never yet been enslaved to anyone; how is it that You say, 'You will become free'?"
Jesus answered them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is the slave of sin. The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son does remain forever. So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed."
Whether you want to admit it or not, Paul is your 'Lord', not Jesus.

Let's look at Matthew 5 where He does:
20 “For I say to you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven.
Followed by a number of "You have heard" passages where Jesus shows several areas where their righteousness falls short of what's required to enter the kingdom of heaven and therefore what is required of you.
And to summarize Jesus says this:
48 "Therefore you are to be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect."
You are to be perfect / complete in you righteousness.

From my experience and what I gather from the experience of others, Christians, on the whole, are no more moral than the general public. The world would be a much better place of everyone followed the teachings of Jesus. The reality is that many Christians do not follow the teachings of Jesus. Not only do they believe that they don't have to, they don't believe it possible. He is their "Lord" in name only. They live in denial of this fact.

Never been the most eloquent but somethings are simple. Sometimes the most profound ideas as you know are the simplest as I think God likes it to confound the so called wise of this age.

Not just love but trust. Oh well, these are just words, I do try to live by them but love (and trust) is a two way street.
Sometimes you sound more Christian than some of the Christians on here LOL 🙂

Because you can't follow Jesus words 100% Sure the desire is there and He will aid you but as long as your in this flesh it wages war against the spiritual. Until Christ Himself liberates you from this flesh you will be at war. However there is comfort draw near to God and the devil will flee. I think it's audacity to think that you will stand before God and say yeah I have no sin!! It should be Thanks for the sacrifice that was done on my behalf. We do the works of God not because they alone will save us. We do them because we have a desire to obey our Lord. Even the good fruit we produce will only be because God first empowered us to produce.

Does he? Then why is he constantly writing to communities, rebuking them for their immorality and exhorting them to lead holy lives? If sin were inevitable, what would be the point of any moral instruction?

Where ever your at its good to know where that is and where it isn't. What you are cut out for and what you shouldn't attempt. Some are born leaders, some aren't.
I dont believe Jesus was a christian, he was just himself. As to him being Gods only son, etc. - I dont know. All that supernatural stuff can be debated ad infinitum but simple stuff, like love your neighbour, can be practised daily, and does actually make the world a nicer place...See ya

However, it not only wasn't taught by Jesus but is contrary to what Jesus taught.
Sorry that you were too afraid to take a hard look at what Jesus had to say and how it does not line up with your beliefs.
