Those broadcasts are just as bad in their own way as anything that used to come out of the Soviet Union or Cuba from 40 years ago.
What do you think the rest of the world thinks when that is the ONLY thing you can pick up on the short wave bands.
I can tell you, short wave radio is very popular around the world so when we never put out our real cultu 0's and so forth, an ELVIS channel for god's sake!
But real culture? Forgeddabodit..

That is ALL you hear from the USA now. We used to have the Voice of America and it may still be around but budget cuts have reduced the programming and transmitters so you would have to really hunt them down to find what frequency and time/date they inhabit.
Countries like Romania show cultural diversity on the shortwave bands because they want the rest of the world to hear the story of Romania.
These asssholes on US religious right stations could care less about ANY kind of culture other than the one they foist on the public, right wing nutterism.
You listen to radio Australia and you find cultural diversity, music, science, politics, sports talk, food talk, car talk, astronomy, medicine and the like.
That is what I mean about cultural diversity. You tune in to Radio Australia and you never know what they will have on next, what art they would talk about or sports or whatever because they talk about ALL of it.
Same with the BBC shortwave edition.
Same with Radio Moscow.
Same with radio CUBA for god's sake.
I once listened to radio Solomon Islands and THEY had a lot of cultural diversity.
Not so with the cretins on US shortwave.
When I say they are the only shortwave action in the US, I mean EXACTLY that. There is virtually NOTHING else.
What kind of an impression do you think people in Asia or Norway or Brazil listening to those stations will have of the USA?
Is that what you would have people around the world to think is America?
Give me a serious answer.

You could care less about REAL culture, like classical music, folk music, dance, painting, sculpture. THAT is culture. Rush Limberger is a joke, a political shock jock.

It's this that makes me think the Republican Party would be a lot less viable today were it not for the likes (and lies) of Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity and others.

Why do you ascribe any higher platform of ethics to this party whose entire message is "help the rich get even more money, piss on the poor"? There is no current system of politics that covers this (although capitalism comes close, it's still an economic theory, not a political one), so they adopt the free market lie.
"Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.
But godliness with contentment is great gain.
For we brought nothing into [this] world, [and it is] certain we can carry nothing out.
And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.
But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and [into] many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.
For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows." -- 1 Timothy 6:5-10

The Democrates in the USA believe it is not thief to take extra money from a group of people who have been successful and have plenty, because then they can buy votes by giving it to bums who will not work for a living. That is what they call fair play. Of course the poor are going to vote for those that promise to give them the most, because they would rather not have to work hard for a good living.
