Does the concept of Hell seem a little bit too strong of a punishment for the average Joe that just did not see the need in getting Saved ? Maybe the average Joe was a Jew. Maybe a Buddist. Maybe a Hindhu. Maybe a Muslem. It's amazing how the Christian idea of Hell has not been put into the trash can of time a long time ago. What a screwball concept it is. What an evil concept it is. It has nothing to do with a all "Good God". It reminds me of something from the other side of the fense. Something that the Devil might come up with. By the way the idea of a Devil also seems wacked out. Christianity needs to wake up to rational thought.

Yes, the concept of Hell seems obviously man-made.
Personally, I believe that this life is just a Test;
Pass the test = heaven
Fail the test = hell

Hell does seem over the top. But you can not logically infer anything by how it seems to you.

The names were there in advance.
example:
if you were to gain $10 today, you will have it now matter what = fate
however you will be accounted on HOW you earn it. You can steal it, you can find it, you can work for it, someone can give it to you, you can kill for it.. etc etc..
your actions and intentions what counts.
