So readers, I write some things deeper which are hard to understand. And some complain it is too convoluted.
So I alternately offer in addition something very simple and even very prqactical.
You must expect here again some willl say this is too simple and offer incredulity.
This is of course their right.
That is to complain of convolution and complexity in one moment and to change
to a complaint of incredulity at the simplicity on the other hand.
But, I still on this thread encourage the simplicity of calling "O Lord Jesus" with faith and a heart willing to allow the Lord Jesus to make Himself known to you. This of course will change you.
Jesus the Lord is into changing, changing, changing people.
But they are WONDERFUL changes, liberating changes, enlightening changes.
setting FREE changes.
So try calling out to the Lord Jesus because God hears our voice in this simplicity.
The earth is about to move into a period of unparelleled supernatural calamity. That is a calamity that scientists are unable to explain.
God comforts with the simplicity that whoever calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved.
Sure He said it! Right here in Acts as Peter quiotes the prophet Joel.
"And I will show wonders in heaven above and signs on the earth below, blood and fire and vapor of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and notable day of the Lord comes.
AND IT SHALL BE THAT EVERYONE WHO CALLS ON THE NAME OF THE
LORD SHALL BE SAVED." (Acts 2:19 - 21)
[My capitals for emphasis]
We do not need to wait. For we do not know when exactly all this will begin to happen. And face it, any given day MAY be your last on earth. So call on the name of the Lord Jesus to be saved at any time now or then. Amen.
@FMF
Maybe I have no links of sciewntists before hand saying "We do not know what is going on here."
I probably could find some. But that is not really my point that scientists admit they are still trying to find out this or that reason for things.
My point is more that someday (and it could be sooner then we imagine) it will become evident that the shaking of the universe is on a scale so immense as to be awesomely regarded as the acts of God.
And when it appears that divine JUDGMENT upon the earth is likely what uis being observed - "And it shall be that everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved."
This is not a call for all scientists to immediately stop studying the causes of various natural phenomenon.
TYhis thred is more concerned with tyhe practicality of calling on the Lord to touch Him than the responsibility of scientists. My priorities are with exercising the human spirit of faith and touching the FAITHFUL God who is there.
Our faith WITHOUT God's FAITHFULNESS means nothing.
He answers when we call very often when we draw near to Him in truth because He is FAITHFUL. He asnwers.
For any afraid that we Christians are trying to take away their enjoyment of science study or career of science - Relax.
You can tonight call on the name of the Lord Jesus and still have many happy hours of scientific inquirey into how the mechanical universe works.
In fact, I would encourage you to keep studying these things.
Calling to be saved is not VERSES being a professional scientist or a science
student.
@sonship saidI think you are not telling the truth, sonship. You asserted: "That is a calamity that scientists are unable to explain." Where are some examples of scientists trying to explain this "calamity" and being "unable to" do so? I think you're making stuff up.

@sonship saidMaybe people can convert to Judaism, Islam and Christianity - if they haven't done so already - when this immense "shaking of the universe" starts.

@sonship saidUtter baloney. There are people calling Gods name and Jesus's name all over the world. That has nothing to do with being saved. Your are manipulating the bible like a true mouthworshipping hypocrite.

The Christian who calls Gods name without obedience to the commandments of Christ is no better than than a whore calling Gods name every night with her clients. Both groups are going to be cast out of the Kingdom of God.
@FMF
The main focus is calling on the Lord.
Joel's prophecy is good to show that this calling will be heard by the merciful God even at the end of this age.
Even up to and on the great and terrible day.
@sonship saidOf course, I'll have to look at your verses there and re-familiarize myself with them, but on the face of it, this sounds like something that has been going on for thousands of years: solar and lunar eclipses. No need for saving here, but I'll look at Acts 2 nevertheless.

@sonship said"Calling on the Lord" is something we, as Christians, should already be doing in prayer every day, whether in the face of "end times" or not.

Daily prayer goes hand-in-hand with following Jesus.

I agree.
David said he called daily - every day.
English Revised Version
. . . I have called daily upon thee, O LORD, I have spread forth my hands unto thee. (Psalm 88:9)
