Once a person has received the Lord and Savior Jesus into their heart, HOW are the commandments of Christ realized ?

How this afternoon do I ascertain what are the commandments of Christ?

The question, I think, requires the answers primarily from people who have experience being believers in Christ. But we'll give others a try if they are serious.

Rajk999, you above all posters harp much all the time about the importance of keeping the commandments of Christ.

How are the commandments of Christ realized, known, and followed ?

1.) How are the commandments of Christ realized ?

A second question if someone wants to start here.

2.) Before the New Testament was completed, like in the first decades of the Christian era, how did the Christians know what the commandments of Christ WERE ?

(Take a chance. You may find me agreeing.)

How are the commandments of Christ realized? [edited]

The Christians in Corinth - How did they know what the commandments of Christ were? (ie First and Second Corinthians)

The Christians in Rome - How did they know what the commandments of Christ were? (ie. Romans)

The Christians in the churches in Galatia - How did they know what the commandments of Christ were? ( ie. Galatians )

In the audience of First John - How did they realize what the commandments of Christ were for them ?

You know what the commandments of Christ are.
I dont know why you need to ask such a dumb question.

@Rajk999

When Paul wrote the book of Romans how did he and they know what the commandments of Christ would be on any given day?

The New Testament canon had not been completed yet. The only Scriptures they had were the Tanak - the Old Testament.

What is " on any given day"? The commandments of Christ changed daily?

Jesus preached to many thousands of Jews. Disciples were sent out dozens of disciples to preach all over Israel. Why would you now try to imply that the early church did not know of the commandments of Christ?

You are a devious man indeed.

I said they did know. I asked you how they knew.
You don't answer.

He commanded them from WITHIN. He was in them as "the anointing". That is a kind of rubbing around and rubbing into their hearts. This is called "the teaching of the anointing".

"And you have an anointing from the Holy One, and all of you know." (1 John 2:20)

This divine anointing was within each Christian moving around withing them. This was according to the prophecy of Jeremiah 31:33:
The crucial part is bolded.
"Indeed, days are coming, declares Jehovah, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah, (v.31)

Not like the covenant which I made with their fathers in the day I took them by their hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, although I was their Husband, declares Jehovah. (v.32)

But this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares Jehovah: I will put My law in their inward parts and write it upon their hearts; and I will be their God, and they will be My people. (v.33)

And they will no longer teach, each man his neighbor and each man his brothers, saying, Know Jehovah; for all of them will know Me, from the little one among them even to the great one among them, declares Jehovah, for I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more." (v.34)

This prophecy was fulfilled in the dispensing of the anointing within the Christians.

"And as for you, the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you have no need that anyone teach you; but as His anointing teaches you concerning all things and is true and is not a lie, even as it has taught you, abide in Him." (1 John 2:27)

The believer needs to become more and more sensative to this anointing - this moving around in a rubbing motion of the Spirit of Christ within.

It reminds me of Vick's Vapor Rub. You apply it with a pressure and circular moving around of the hand - "anointing" the ointment.

The commandments of Jesus are in this anointing. And it mainly teaches the believers to abide in Him - linger in His presence - settle down under His influence.

"And as for you, the ANOINTING which you have received from Him abides in you ... His anointing teaches you concerning all things and is true and is no lie, and even as it has taught you, abide in Him." (See 1 John 2:27)

This was the both the teaching and the anointing which the believers had from the beginning.

"As for you, that which you heard from the beginning, let it abide in you. If that which you heard from the beginning abides in you, you also will abide in the Son and in the Father ... the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you ..."(See 1 John 2:24-27)

This anointing is too closely related to the Holy Spirit, the third Person of the Triune God. He abides in the believers in Christ.

"In this we know that we abide in Him and He in us, that He has given to us of His Spirit." (1 John 4:14)

And the Spirit abiding in them is God Himself abiding in them:

"Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him and he in God.

And we know and have believed the love which God has in us, God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God and God in him." (1 John 4:15,16)

The greatest expression of God's love toward men and women in all kinds of circumstances, is that God lives in them anointing His Son into the very fabric of their being.

Learning the commandments of Christ happens in the abiding in the anointing which the believers receive.

Christ IS the Anointed One. And to receive Him is to become firmly attached to the Anointed One and sharing in His anointing.

"But the One who firmly attaches us with you unto Christ and has anointed us is God, He who has also sealed us and given the Spirit in our hearts as a pledge." ( 2 Cor. 1:21,22)

Rajk999, what are some verses in First John which speak of the commandments of Christ?

I want to see if you read that book at all.

Now the commandments of Christ will be in harmony with the commandments of the Scriptures. But the granularity and finest of the living commands of Christ as so minute it is impossible that there would be a written commandment for all of them.

Mostly, for new believers Christ within them will tell them " No " .

Christ will too often command in terms of -
"No, Don't say that."
"No, Don't do that."
Even - "No, Don't think that way this time."

Like the child who first learns the word "No" from its parent. So so very often Jesus within will direct and regulate your reactions FIRST by many instances of Him saying in your deep conscience - "No.".

In the past you did many things without thinking about them. Now that you have received Jesus you notice a "No, Don't do that this time" commandment in your heart.

Latter as you become more sensative His way of commanding you will spread into other reactions regulating your life in a spontaneous way.

To go along with His word is "life and peace". The sense of life and peace signals you that you are on the right track.

[b]"For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the spirit is life and peace." (Rom. 8:6) [b]

That is also a mind going along obediently with the teaching of the inward anointing.

In learning to follow the commandments of Christ He is gentle and longsuffering. He does not heap upon you what you cannot bear.

Like the training of a child, He leads you in a way appropriate to the capacity you have at the time. Each act of obedience leads to growth. Each instance of denying you old way to live and going along with the teaching of the anointing leads to stronger empowerment.
