@vivify saidRajk999 has disagreed with you robustly and questioning your intelligence is, I think, a reference to your politicized cherry-picking.
Hey FMF....do I get the same treatment you gave Dive when you stood up for him after I said he lacked intelligence?
Perhaps your cherry-picking was inadvertent and done in good faith?
In which case his questioning your "intellect to appreciate what the Bible says" is perhaps excessive.
@fmf saidSo you're a hypocritical douchebag. GFY.

@vivify saidYou have omitted the crucial part of my post and therefore not answered my question. You are acting like a political operative rather than a conversationalist.
You're making the mistake Rajk made. That verse does not refer to a poor person: it refers to a lazy person. They are not one and the same.

@vivify saidYou dodged it so I'll ask again.
Where you fail is by assuming I'm talking about people who refuse to work. I'm talking about the less fortunate, the impoverished.
By constantly accusing poor people of being scum who won't feed their family you've proven my point: Republicans are nothing like Jesus. If Jesus had an account on RHP you'd berate him as an idiot who doesn't know the Bible. You and every other Republican would act just like the Pharisees.
Do you think that a sound Christian approach [and perhaps for everyone, not just Christians] to those not working [aside from those who are sick in hospital or incapacitated or old and infirm] would be "a welfare system that requires those receiving benefits to perform some work or to participate in job training" a.k.a. a workfare programme?

@vivify saidI know nothing of your American Republicans, Liberals, Democrats, etc etc. I dont know how you can pigeon hole people like that. So carry on with your argument. T

There are many poor who are able bodied people who are just lazy. I would say that about 10% or your American poor are justifiably poor and need government assistance. The rest are sloths, condemned by God
Actually there is a whole bunch of sin and evil that is now normalized in your sick American society
- Laziness and living off handouts
- Glutony and greed
- Materialism
- Fornication and adultery
- Homosexuality and perverted lifestyles
You people Im sure have exceeded the evil God found in Sodom and Gomorrah.

@vivify saidJust to be clear, I am NOT calling you a "douchebag" or telling you to "go f**** yourself" because of anything you've said.
So you're a hypocritical douchebag. GFY.
I think this is an interesting topic. And I think it would be interesting if you engaged that which is being put to you rather than name calling.

@rajk999 saidIt doesn't matter: you're all right wingers who think and act the same. And you all despise the teachings of Jesus.

Post after post you accuse poor people of being lazy scum and proving my point. A turd by any other name still smells like you.

@vivify saidSome of the most potent charities in the field of catering to and rehabilitating the poor in accordance with the teachings of Jesus are run by "right-wingers" and funded generously by people with conservative values.
