Yes, but you also say your mother knew nothing of the Bible because of her Catholic upbringing. This sounds strange to me, because Catholic mass includes reading passages of the Bible. Latin Mass is extremely uncommon nowadays. I didn't even know it still existed.

Of course, some American Catholics reject the RCC's Cathechism (for one, it does NOT reject the theory of evolution) so it's hard to go from them to conclude upon Roman Catholicism.

Has anybody done much research on the Catholic church and Nazi Germany? Some interesting things online about that....
I,ve seen a picture of a Catholic Priest blessing the guns of Nazi soldiers many years ago but can't find it now. If someone has seen it let me know where it is..Thanks.
Just found this little bit of info I didn't know:
"Father George Zabelka, a Catholic chaplain with the U.S. Air Force, served as a priest for the airmen who dropped the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in August 1945, and gave them his blessing."
Originally posted by galveston75There some history with the JW's & Nazis too. Supposedly the newest Pope had some connection with the Nazi's. I can't remember what it is now but maybe someone can get the true story.

It's funny how when people get to slamming on the JW's you guys get all defensive yet your slyly trying to rip on Catholics or at least the religion of Catholicism. Just funny observation.
