@divegeester saidSeriously, just go back and read this thread and try to put yourself in my place.
What is? What are you talking about?
@divegeester saidI wrote about the Lord, you pop in and accuse me of stealing someone else' work. Still the conversation isn't about the Lord, it isn't about the love of God towards us! What we continue to have instead is justifying your accusation as a straight forward question. I did read the polite accusation, was offended, and you cannot even attempt to see why I would be.
I asked you a polite straight forward question in my first post. Why don’t you go back and look at your response and see what followed.
James 1:
But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks intently at his natural face in a mirror. For he looks at himself and goes away and at once forgets what he was like. But the one who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, he will be blessed in his doing.
If anyone thinks he is religious and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his heart, this person's religion is worthless. Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.
The scripture above teaches us about the self deception of the human heart is a real thing, scripture warns us about it shows us that our actions and words will reflect what manner of people we really are. Jesus teaches us what comes out of the mouth is what is in our hearts, so when we see things that are not loving, kind, tenderhearted we see the wickedness within. We need saved, and the sanctifying work of God within our lives, without which we will never be able to live a holy and righteous life that God can accept.
Matthew 12:
Matthew 12:33-35 English Standard Version (ESV)
“Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or make the tree bad and its fruit bad, for the tree is known by its fruit. You brood of vipers! How can you speak good, when you are evil? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. The good person out of his good treasure brings forth good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure brings forth evil.
What kind of person are we before God, are we always in the middle of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions? There anything of the Spirit of God within where the fruit of the Spirit shines out, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control and so on. What type of life are we living?
Galatians 5
But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
@kellyjay saidI sincerely apologise for offending you, for challenging your originality.
I did read the polite accusation, was offended, and you cannot even attempt to see why I would be.
That's two apologies, because at least you are talking to me 🙂
We can move on if you are happy to?
@divegeester saidYes, without a doubt we can thank you for this!

@kellyjay saidHow do you square that prosaic prose with the existence of Heart Disease, Stroke, Flu, HIV, COPD, lung cancer, diabetes, Alzheimer's, dehydration, etc.?
The Psalmist said the heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky proclaims He handiwork, while when we were created in Genesis, we were created in God’s image. We were created for relationship, male and female, so we could have relationship with God and each other.
In a universe created by love, out of love was it all made. The thing about love is that it is a relation ...[text shortened]... him were to receive, for as yet the Spirit had not been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.
And please don't say Adam's original Sin did all of that to us, because I don't buy it.
@bigdoggproblem saidYou are free not to buy anything but you are not free to demand an explanation based on your point of view.

@bigdoggproblem saidI am comfortable with you holding a faulty point view making you blind to the truth.
So, you are comfortable with scuttling difficult issues related to your faith.
I don't know how you manage it, but I could never do that.
@bigdoggproblem saidWhy ask me for an answer if you don't want to hear it? Death came because of sin, before that those things were not in the picture. Many of them are all due to human action we actually bring on ourselves.

Think about abortions, STD, and HIV if we actually obeyed the command about sex between a man and woman in marriage how long do you think STD and HIV would continue to ravage the human race as it does now? If we didn't treat sex as a something causal between people and instead treated our bodies as holy temples much would disappear. A lot of things like wars, murder, rape, robbery would disappear if we would love one another too! We choose consequences follow. Many of these ills are of our own making by what we put into our bodies, and some are simply the world we live in due to the results of choices others have made.
Had our concerns always been what they were meant to be, we wouldn't be going through this.
@kellyjay saidHow do you know what I want to hear?

Did you reach thru the Inter-webz and read my mind?
Sheesh, Kelly. I expect better from you.
