@suzianne saidNo that’s because it wasn’t a serious question. You see here in England we sometimes just ask question s for fun .......
This is possibly the single most uninformed question on the entirety of these forums.
You'd have to have read nothing he's ever written here to believe this.
@medullah removed their quoted postMore people willing to come forward to condemn these things, more cases being known about and pursued, the demise of look-the-other-way and blame/ostracize-the-victim culture, and age-old mechanisms for covering them up being torn down, are arguably indications of the opposite of "moral decline".
@medullah removed their quoted postThe condemnation indicates that there is no "acceptance of practices" that were once covered up and engaged in with little fear of being exposed. What was quietly going on "for twenty of your thirty years" ~ and probably centuries prior to that ~ is not "gaining acceptance". Tacit "acceptance of practices" is a thing of the past; you see this trend as one of "moral decline"?
@divegeester saidThis is evidence of a disturbing trend sexually based in the uppermost religious position in the uk
Is this your evidence for an imminent one world religion and one world government?
@fmf saidThere is a lot of truth in that I agree - but I don’t think that it’s just down to reporting

@divegeester saidI went to two - the first was Wetherspoons, the second you won’t know but it’s on the way back
Which pub “at home” was it you were visiting at 10:30 in the evening?
Just curious.
@medullah saidIf, psychologically speaking, you feel you must squeeze everything of this kind through some kind of misanthropic and sanctimonious sphincter, then so be it.

If you believe that the clear shift FROM the complacency and moral constipation that enabled the Jimmy Savilles of this world, for example, to do what they did with impunity 40 years ago TO the current complete and unconditional condemnation and revulsion that it's met with now, 40 years later, is evidence of "moral decline", then you are not a credible commentator on morality.
Everyone has always condemned the sort of thing that Saville did. Everyone has always hated predatory sexual behavior in the modern world...
The only thing that has changed is that we are now able to find out about all of these shocking incidents.
The Bill Cosby stuff is a great example of this -- for more than a decade, accusers were coming forward and trying to gain traction. None of the media would report on it because they knew that if they gave a voice to these accusations and made it a topic, Bill Cosby would never, ever do an interview with them again, but if they agreed to snub the people who came forward, Cosby would give them exclusives.
This happens a surprising amount in the media...
It's the internet era that is changing this.
The dinosaur media has a lot to deal with.
