I think my OP was pretty clear that when I try personally to answer the question "who do you say I am", asked by Jesus, that my reply is:
Jesus, you sorta didn't make it very clear at all who you are.
And what about the name Emmanuel?

Do you agree that 1 John 1's Word of God is a person?
Who do YOU say Jesus is?
Not what John says, or what 1John say.
Note: before Jesus asked His disciples who they thought He was, He first asked them who "others" thought He was....and the "others" seemed clueless and wrong with their GUESSES.

Why did only Peter figure it out and why did he tell Peter and the rest of his followers not to utter a word of it to anyone?
What was the big deal?

What was the big deal?
Peter did NOT say that Jesus is God, and.....Jesus did NOT correct him.

The big deal is this:
Peter did NOT say that Jesus is God, and.....Jesus did NOT correct him.
Again, what does the "Son of God" mean to you?
And if it is nothing special, why the secrecy?
Originally posted by @chaney3Like usual, many Christians don't really care what Jesus actually said or didn't say in the gospel preached by Jesus during His ministry. They relegate those words spoken by Jesus behind the words of others. This despite the fact that perhaps the most prevalent theme in the gospel preached by Jesus during His ministry was the importance of the words He was speaking during that time.
The big deal is this:
Peter did NOT say that Jesus is God, and.....Jesus did NOT correct him.

Jesus calls His followers to become sons of God as He was a son of God.
Matthew 5
9“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.
John 3:16 New International Version (NIV)
16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
What does the term "ONLY" mean to you?

Not God gave HIMSELF. ..
Got it?

I say Jesus is God who became man was sacrificed but has risen from the dead so that all who are God's will have eternal life.
Now about John 1 the entire chapter.
