How does it apply to divegeester's quip in reply to Wolfgang59's quip on that General Forum thread?

josephw was referring specifically to that exchange of quips: "...reread the post by divegeester and my reply to it. Then tell me what you think it means based on the context of the posts in question." You can see it here on Thread 167360 on page 13 onwards.

How does that General Forum exchange mean someone has to be picked out and "exhorted to resist the devil", as you put it? Is this really a proper way to use the Bible?

So, I ask again, the troubled waters on which you see yourself as pouring oil, how do you see them as becoming troubled and what was the cause?
