And I don't blame people for disagreeing with me. And I can take blame when things ARE my fault. I don't turn mere disagreement with me into a reason to think people are vile or evil. I don't expect others to come to my defense and help attack someone merely for disagreeing with me. I don't see disagreeing with me as one of the greatest sins imaginable. ...[text shortened]... y turn an entire forum against someone just for disagreeing with me. Seeing a pattern here yet?

Read it in context. We are each and all exhorted to "resist the devil".
It applies to everyone.
josephw was referring specifically to that exchange of quips: "...reread the post by divegeester and my reply to it. Then tell me what you think it means based on the context of the posts in question." You can see it here on Thread 167360 on page 13 onwards.
How does that General Forum exchange mean someone has to be picked out and "exhorted to resist the devil", as you put it? Is this really a proper way to use the Bible?

Are you an owl? Do you actually tread on stars? 🙄
But seriously, you have changed the descriptive words on your profile, and there must be meaning and intention behind it. Bearing in mind how frequently you yourself stir the waters, so to speak, and, as you reminded us all a day or so ago, always and only for your own entertainment and amusement.
So, I ask again, the troubled waters on which you see yourself as pouring oil, how do you see them as becoming troubled and what was the cause?
And the oil: which oil? What is its purpose? Healing? Exorcism? Something else?

JosephW deserves our thanks. Thank you, Joseph.

Still, it's a logical sequence for "Scourge of Windbags", but maybe you won't "get" that either.

Originally posted by FMFI think yours was the only reference to avatars. You made an oh-so-funny (?) reference to my owl, of which I am fond and which I never change.

I've made no comment on yours. I could, but I choose not to.
