Hindu spiritualism says God is " Swayambhu " or self-creator. God cannot be described correctly or completely using human speech or conceived completely/correctly by human mind. We can usually conceive our " I " ness ( something that is distinct from our body and mind ) when our mind is calm and yet concentrated. This Self is a reflection of the Universal Self/ God just as the Sun is reflected in the water in a pot.

That's not neat, it's just silly. Under that system your god can be omnipotent AND powerless, God AND NOT God, and so on...

Why would you need to know it even then?

Yes, exactly. Just like Yahshua (Jesus).

The problem I have is that the opening post makes the immediate assumption there is a God, and too many people fall for assumptions..........

That's a valid point - though for my part I assume *only* for the sake of argument

There is no assumption. It is true. There is one God.

Which is an assertion of fact which you can't make without valid proof.

You don't have valid proof thus you can't make the assertion of fact.

The heavens and the earth is proof enough for me.

The universe is not evidence or proof of god.

You fail to understand the meaning of proof.

Maybe, that is why I believe and you don't. Our standard of proof is
different.

Well it is quite easy....God is a He, Him, Lord etc. In Christianity that is the way we write.
In America, the correct spelling for colour is color, everywhere else it is spelled colour if i'm not mistaken. If you have such a big issue with the way we praise our God and how we refer to Him in our comments, just ease yourself that there are bigger issues with basics in the world.
