I think it's the essential dilemma which sits grumbling at the heart of Christian and socialist philosophy, which is why I call myself neither of these. From a Christian perspective, if you believe and take literally that which is written in the bible; the camel (or rope, which makes more sense) through the eye of a needle deal, then if you're rich (which we all are, relatively speaking) then you ain't going to heaven. Similarly, if you believe in the equal distribution of wealth, then those of us who have more wealth than others should start distributing it more equally. Otherwise as Mr Orwell so succinctly put it, all animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.

@Indonesia-Phil

The eye of the needle was the name of a narrow gate leading into Jerusalem. So either rope or the gate fits the description.

Where is the lack of honesty in my post?

1. KazetNagorra referred to Nigel Farage as 'evil.' - Check.
2. You claimed Dive was a 'fanatical admirer' of Farage. - Check.
3. Both KazetNagorra and yourself used grossly exaggerated language. Check.

No, the 'core' is the ridiculous language used by both KazetNagorra and yourself.

Why do you both feel the need to do that? Is it perhaps a lack of confidence in your ability to put forward a reasonable argument?

divegeester is not a "fanatical" admirer or supporter of anyone or anything. divegeester does not "loathe Christian socialism".

What does this have to do with the fact that divegeester believes that trying to turn biblical scripture into a left-wing political banner is fraught with hypocrisy? And what does it have to with your incorrect claim that divegeester "loathes Christian socialism"?

Pardon me for turning your own words verbatim - as found midway down page 2 - back at you, but you have made these claims and so do you now have the burden of justifying them beyond mere assertion or reiteration? [see page 2]

What does Nigel Farage have to do with Matthew 19:24?
