Yes to both. Imagination A.K.A. thinking outside the box is what enabled Einstein to develop many of his physics theory's, enabled Copernicus (see my avatar) to consider the sun was the center of our solar system and not the earth, enabled people to consider that there is only one God. Without imagination, people would think more like animals or fish.
