The words of Christ are the words of salvation, and from what He said, you need the following:
- Faith and belief - ie love God
- Baptism
- Good Works - the chief of which is to love your neighbour as yourself by living a life of charity.

I cant answer your question in detail. Hopefully someone else will.
Actually, I hope your answer is sufficient! It is for me.

Sense is a product of the human mind, it is merely an interpretation of reality, there is nothing to suggest that the world has to "make sense", many things don't make sense, from quantum mechanics to religious phenomena. There may well be some absolute truth, but I doubt it is accessible by any human being.

Just cause you cant pick at it with your rational mind doesn't mean it doesn't make sense on some level.
going with the truism: 'There are no accidents', we would have to conclude that everything that happens to us is in direct relationship with our thinking, our mind and the ground of all being.

Unfortunately it seems that the vast majority of Christians seem to believe that they can do something less than that and still have "eternal life"/"heaven"/"salvation".[/b]
Actually, not something less, but nothing at all.

Eternal life is a free gift.

When will you understand?

For me there is no such thing as Truth, there are only truths, and to claim one's version of truth is right solely by virtue of bare assertion is nothing but a gesture of either profound ignorance or tremendous arrogance, usually a misture of both.
So you are not Christian and believe Jesus was
profoundly ignorant and tremendously arrogant.
Or maybe, I misunderstand your truth and that
is an assessment of yourself. Whatever.
