I don’t think that you’ll be waiting another 2000 years. Rev 13:16 tells of a system of trading which is compulsory. That’s knocking on the door, and if Bill Gates gets his way it will Microsoft powered.

Far from it. - We are in dark times of course (with all the conflicts going on around the world) but longer term the future looks bright for our species. (Once we are out there in the universe colonising other inhabitable worlds with our developing technology and cyborg brains).
