Actually they have made it to three NC games in the last 6 years. Also consider that coach Tressel has run off the most consequtive wins in Big Ten history. I don't think many respect coach Tressels accomplishments for what they are. All they know is that the SEC is a better conference in general and I would not disagree with that sentiment. LSU may have better players over all than OSU, but don't count out coach Tress. He may have a few tricks up his sleeve. 😉

(3) It is absolutely B.S. that both Illinois and Ohio State play 100% road bowl game ...[text shortened]... her ranked in the polls that Illinois and Michigan and as a result bowl records cannot be great.
It shows the deplorable weakness of the "powerhouse" Big Ten that its no2 team (Michigan did beat Illinois which had the same conference record) playing the no5 team in the SEC (three teams had a better record than Florida's 5-3 and Auburn which was also 5-3 beat Florida) is considered a mismatch ........... in the SEC's favor!

If you look at the last 6 years and say what team(s) have stood head and shoulders above the rest, OSU has to be on if not at the very top of the list.

The team should be applauded for their accomplishments.

The BCS is obviously wrong.
Here's the flaws.

1 - OSU is ranked number 1. They had a cupcake schedule featuring only 1 "good" team, Michigan (and they are not elite.) Meanwhile, Hawaii is ranked #10, and they had about the same schedule as OSU, but had a better record!

2 - The BCS is biased. Coaches do not vote accurately as they could objectively. Take the Georgia coach for example, who stated that he ranked his team #2 and OSU #1. He later said he expected to have best chances against OSU!

3 - Losing late is more hurtful than losing early. OSU lost early. All they had to do was wait for the domino to fall. WVU lost late; if the loss to Pitt came 7 weeks earlier (or 3-4) they could have still been ranked top 2.

4 - Different conferences are waited evenly. This is as if claiming the Giants have as easy a division as the Seahawks.

My solution: Have a playoff of some sort. Allow top 10-20 teams prove the BCS rankings and FIGHT for the championship rather than being VOTED for it. Obviously, the BCS is FLAWED and needs to be changed.

Hawaii's schedule is a complete joke. They did not play anyone close to as good as Illiinois, Penn State or Wisconsin.

Wow that's like saying the Rams and the Dolphins are comparable to the Giants and the Steelers.

Fresno State and Boise are even with Penn, Illonois.

Currently, the Rams are comparable to the Giants AND Steelers. The Rams have gone 3-1 this past month. That is better than NYG.

Michigan would be thrilled to learn that they are better than Wisconsin, Illinois, and Penn State.

June Jones said that Washington was the best team his fellows played this year.

So Washington is equal to Michigan nad better than Wisconsin, Illinois, and Penn State?

BTW: I agree with you that we need a playoff.

Washington had a tough schedule but was way below .500. Michigan won at Illinois and had 8 wins. Michigan is a much better team that Washington.

Avoiding the technicalities, what I am pointing out is that OSU did not have a tough schedule. They are rather even with HU, but LSU, MO, Oklahoma...and several others had harder schedules.

Ohio state did not have an SEC type schedule but it is not even the same categories as joke schedules as Hawaii.

Michigan ducked a game at HOME against Hawaii and lost to a Div 1-AA team. I didn't see Fresno State or Boise State do either.
