2008 Championship

Maybe we can get 800+ players and have 100+ groups in round one.

Will there be an easy way to figure out what group you are in ? For the last two I just clicked through every group until I found mine. In both 2006 and 2007 I was in group 37. Maybe I will get it 3 years in a row. 😀

Looking forward to this! I just hope i get lucky like last year, and dont catch any 2000 players in the first round so i can advance again!! Over 400 entrants now! Looks like its going to be fun all over again! I am excited!

I hope this is not a dumb or obvious question, but when does this tournament start?

Sweet, 473 entrants already.

Over 500 now...pretty intense competition, and a lot of very strong players that could pull some major upsets on higher seeds!

Oh well, it'll be good for experience for me at least....
I just looked at entrants... I can advance past round one if someone times out, perhaps. Heheh.

Not many of the elite players have entered this time. I wonder if it is true what people say about the higher a reating gets - the more reluctant a player is to put it on the line.

be awesome if weyerstrass entered but as said above the time controls are probably to fast for him.
