I saw Beau Soleil together with Michael Doucet in concert last night in Chandler Az. Doucet can play violin with the best of the jazz performers. I think that SE and SW Louisiana French music can fit neatly with jazz.

People seem to either love or hate Baker's singing. I don't know if I've known anyone who was indifferent. I really like it.

Yeah, I've listened to quite a few Lovano discs, mostly from the 90's. What are you listening to? I don't really associate him with ECM other than the albums with Motian. Is there stuff that I'm not aware of?
