The economy came back under Trump because Corporate America finally decided it was about time to get off the pot and get back to work. They could've done this during Obama's watch, but they didn't want to give him any more credit. They stagnated the economy just to spite Obama, so now they had a Rep. president again, so they went back to work finally, so they could say they deserved his tax cut. The tax cut was the only reason they liked Trump. They could jump start the economy any time they wanted just by hiring, which they finally got off their asses and did. Just like McConnell sitting on a hundred bills, not considering squat until Obama was outta there. Trump didn't do anything for the economy. It was all Corporate America thanking him for the tax cut.
The Republican base are just stooges that they can count on every four years to vote their way.
