cool, i enjoyed that wave.

how about the way society helps alcoholics?

ummmm, is society wrong to rely on the systems in place. does this block their conscience from asking themselves to help these people?
The system can't change people. They can try but people will only change on their own accord. AA is great but if they don't want to stop drinking (and you force them their) after they complete their treatment, they will get drunk (probably during).

To make an analogy, if Ted Bundy would have went to classes, jail, and rehibilation (and not put to death), he would have killed again. People will do what they want to do and you can't stop that.

Nearly everything damages internal organs. Other drugs and mental problems can cause people to commit crimes. A family breakdown can happen because of debt, domestic violence, etc. with alcohol never being in the equation. People who can't drive kill more people than a drunk on the road.

But you are true with the fact that alcohol causes all this stuff.

I would call myself a reasonably heavy drinker, of lager, never spirits. I also use hard drugs sometimes. But hardly ever marijuana. Just cant handle it. The paranoia and general uncomfortable feeling I get is horrible, and I know of countless other people who feel the same.
I am an off and on heavy drinker and heavy weed smoker. Paranoia was never significant for me. At most there might be a sort of "is there a person looking at me?" feeling while I was smoking in my car parked somewhere. That's only healthy caution for smoking an illegal drug though.

Very true.
For the most part it's putting up with sober people ;-)
I like your posts 7ate9, I rec'd 2 in a row without seeing who
wrote them.

I drink heavily and I used to smoke heavily. Smoking makes
me paranoid. Now I drink so that I can sleep at night.
Only the more I drink the further away a warm gf in a house that
I own seems to get. It's like that. It's a fight but it's ill defined...

What is wrong with it?
Alcohol is good (and indeed healthy) if drunk in moderation. If drunk to excess then it is harmful.

The price to start off with.
It should be far cheaper.

Another thing that's wrong with it is that the effects are less pleasant than marijuana and it gives you a headache if you drink too much of it.

One last thing is that if you drink 12 pints of beer, the chances of hot-love-makin' are minimalized. Unless you're Scottish.

We can shag anytime, anywhere.
Except me. I don't have a sex life.
That's right. Scottish women can shag anytime. I used to feel sorry for the Scottish guys cause after two beers they limp dicks. At least that was according to the Scottish Ladies I met. What can you expect from someone who wears a dress and calls it a kilt.
