@no1marauder saidEnds up as Marx, but you care not. Ahhhh, all that money to spread around. Do you think they will have a national holiday? Naa, cause on the anniversary of the parade, there won't be any money left to have another one.
Here's an article by Bernie Sanders saying why he'll vote against the $886 billion "defense" budget: https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2023/jul/24/the-pentagon-doesnt-need-886bn-i-oppose-this-bloated-defense-budget
Here's what he would prefer to be the country's priorities:
" [b]It’s about making sure our children go to good schools and will have a habitable ...[text shortened]... priorities. Cutting military spending is a good first step."
That's "money for losers" I suppose.
Did you call me an imbecile on another thread just now?
@averagejoe1 saidSure. Walmart's workforce costs tax payers $6.2 billion per year.
I won't ask it anymore, but apparently the anxiously-awaited answer did not come through. You prob realized that I have no dependent connection to govt by owning shares of Walmart, except to pay taxes on my returns.
If Walmart paid that bill instead of taxpayers, then you'd be poorer, the government would be smaller, and Walmart would be the same store.

@averagejoe1 saidI sure did and you proved me right with your usual brainless "Marx" response.

The idea that a society should be primarily concerned with the well-being and health of its members long predates Marx; it is part and parcel of human nature.
@no1marauder saidAnd it is the stated purpose of our US Constitution, which these pinheads claim to support.

@wildgrass saidYou want to tell everyone the reasoning of congress regarding business and government? I'm not myself, not going to teach a class.

@no1marauder said"The Well-being and health of society" is being handled just right, thankyou very much. Govt sets up programs such as the one at issue for that purpose.

You see, Marauder, you want to change the way that it is done now. Some of you turkeys do not even agree with govt regulated bankruptcy which 'helps people like Trump'. You (libs) want to do away with bankruptcy, it helps rich people, and we do not think people should be allowed to be filthy rich.
So, we are such a society, doing good things, but it is just not enough for Marx reasoning, it is just not getting it done for you, unless Walmart starts to share all of its profits with , well, with everybody. You will not stop until that goal is reached. I find it quite creepy.
Marauder keeps saying something to the effect that there is really no payoff of the student loans, it will not actually 'cost' anything.
WHY, then, is everyone that is against it so much up in arms about it? Why did it go all the way to SCOTUS for god sakes? If it does not take a hit on the treasury or on 'accounts receivable' of the United States, why would its citizens care?
I guarantee that you can not answer this question where every one including me understands your answer. Don't answer with your links or with why it is OK to forgive the debt....PLEase answer this........why is everyone upset about it?
@averagejoe1 saidYou want me to figure out why right wingers are upset about something? Jesus, they'll stop buying a beer if the wrong type of person is in a commercial or burn Barbies if a movie doesn't fit their ideological preferences.

You tell me why your side is such a bunch of whiners.
@no1marauder saidI asked first . Like I just said, you will not answer this question because your premise is false. Everyone, Marauder has said over the weeks that we are incorrect. When we say the government is going to forgive a debt, that is money that was otherwise supposed to go into our treasury to repay the money that they took out. Pretty common sense, don’t you think. But marauder wrote several treatises that there was really no cost to our country to do this. That’s all I can say here, because I have no idea what he meant when he said that. But if he was correct, there being no hit on our economy, why has it been in the news how horrible it would be, how much money it would be ,479 bill, and why in the world did the Scotus even agree to hear the case? Either Marauder is right, or everybody else is right. Which side do you fall on? ?

@AverageJoe1
Why doesn’t marauder see the question, ponder for a moment, and answer it like an adult? Nothing acerbic or cynical or facetious needed. Whew
Brace yourselves, though, he will likely say that it is all the right wingers that didn’t understand what was going on. So, if all the right wingers are wrong to bring the action, why did not SCOTUS say you have no cause, you have no standing.????????

Tell that to blacks. Tell that to transgenders. Tell that to women.

Which you people fight every time. Or just flat-out abolish. Affirmative action, Roe v. Wade. Need I go on?
So, we are such a society, doing good things
Until you decide not to. Until you decide to 'cancel' them.
@averagejoe1 saidOoooh, oooh, let me try your game.

Why do you want to see people, hoping for asylum at the border, die? Cons won't answer this. Why can't you mommys' girls answer questions?
@suzianne saidI will be glad to discuss, may even be swayed, but we have to start with the same premise. Like, if I say Sue, why do you want to see people, hoping for a place to live, turned away from my neighbor's house, doors locked. Neighbor says, Joe, I have no idea who they are. What are they doing here? They are not even american citizens. Sue, is it wrong for me to say that they just cannot come into my house and settle in?
Ooooh, oooh, let me try your game.

So get me through that scenario, same premise, but easier to discuss.
@AverageJoe1
Sue, if they walk up to our border seeking asyslum (you need to look up def, you may be surprised, it is not come one, come all), do we have a duty to them other than following our laws? Note thousands of them do not follow our laws, and you seem to suggest we just ignore that? Do you know that if a lady says she seeks asylum because her husband beats her, she does not qualify? She has to go back.
