@suzianne saidGoobermint can't give anything without taking it first. No costs are paid by goobermint, all costs are paid by taxpayers. Nothing is for free unless freely voluntarily given. And that is not how goobermint comes by the money they buy votes with.
I don't care if the costs of education are all paid by government. We, as a nation, can afford it. As long as it is effectively free for the People.

@averagejoe1 saidTrump already bailed out the pet stores and hardware stores, and everyone except students. It was $800 billion in total. Where were you?
Well, I would pick pet stores out of the air. So you are correct, the federal government, using socialism logic, thinks they should get involved in the debts of citizens. You only prove my point, that if this keeps up, maybe the hardware store and the shoe store will also have government support. Very good that you found this, will give you one of those thumbs that lib ...[text shortened]... d the govt is creating more dependence, I cannot WAIT till Trump is back in. But, could be too late.

Like, Sue will say the rich make money off the backs of others, stealing it from their backs, which is of course her definition of stealing, and, then, off she goes, into the wild blue yonder witih comments based on her def of stealing. That is how it goes here. So, if you will base all of your comments on Wajoma's simple explanation, which is not argueable, it will be better for everyone. Then we have Sonhouse, who finds Trump guilty until proven innocent, and we have to wrestle with THAT!! I could just scream.

@wildgrass saidWhat a great idea. But you see, your def of 'they' is skewed. You see, they, is us.
I mean, they do print money. So they can give you that.
Aha!! Now you get it. Just your sentence that they can 'give' you that. .......you libs just have to be on the receiving end of giving. We give, you take.

@wildgrass saidThis comment is as bad as rich folk hoarding money like Uncle Scrooge McDuck.

Too many people fall for the majic money fallacy. Every time the goobermint or fed reserve prints a dollar when nothing of value has been added to the economy they steal a little value from every dollar that's already out there. There is no majic money and when you know where to look for the sleight of hand it's all exposed.
If they give you a dollar off the printing machine and it's not backed by some new value in the economy you're receiving stolen goods. But probably wasting my breath on you, you'll just say something like 'At least they don't steal as much as Mugabe did where you needed a wheel barrow full of money to buy a loaf of bread.'

@wajoma saidComments like that come from the misuse of the phrase "making money"

@athousandyoung saidTo 'make money' is indeed a noble pursuit, to create value. You can see how the goobermint stinks it up.
Comments like that come from the misuse of the phrase "making money"

@wajoma saidNo, the phrase is not only literally incorrect - making money involves government printing presses - but it conceals an important distinction - that between EARNING money and ACQUIRING money.

You assume all acquired money is earned, but it's not.
Francisco was a spoiled brat of an heir of imperialism who used his family's money to monopolize the copper market of Mexico and then drive it into bankruptcy out of spite.
His investors probably didn't appreciate that.
From Atlas Shrugged:
"Mr. Rearden, do you know where most of those new aristocrats keep their hidden money? Do you know where most of the fair-share vultures have invested their profits? In d’Anconia Copper stock."
I guess it was ok because he, the CEO, had decided his investors were looters.
I recommend anyone who can find it to read the brilliant satire by Colin Ferm:
The (highly abridged) Atlas Shrugged
I can't find it online right now in full
This one below only offers four lines. The original post is like a page or two.

Francisco's money speech:
https://www.capitalismmagazine.com/2002/08/franciscos-money-speech/
Wealth is the product of man’s capacity to think. Then is money made by the man who invents a motor at the expense of those who did not invent it? Is money made by the intelligent at the expense of the fools? By the able at the expense of the incompetent? By the ambitious at the expense of the lazy? Money is made–before it can be looted or mooched–made by the effort of every honest man, each to the extent of his ability. An honest man is one who knows that he can’t consume more than he has produced.’
All this from the man who bought copper companies with his allowance lols

@athousandyoung saidProbably Rand just made a mistake.

Probably she did it for the lols.
Probably she gave people too much credit for their critical ability.
