@eladar saidNo, you've misread the table. The 83,333 figure is pneumonia deaths excluding influenza. The seventh column lists influenza deaths and there were 6,180 deaths. It's a mild 'flu season.
According to the CDC the United States has experienced over 83k deaths due to influenza.
Any empathetic people out there letting people know about the flu deaths?

@DeepThought
So pneumonia deaths.
But still not covid. The spirit of the thread has not changed. Edit was made, point remains.
83k deaths and nobody cares.
@HandyAndy
And cars, do not forget about cars.
The question is why are the covid death numbers being hyped while pneumonia deaths are comparable but totally ignored?
No answer for that?
@eladar saidDoes pneumonia represent a pandemic? Is pneumonia highly contagious?

@the-pickled-walrus saidDo you think the worldwide Covid-19 pandemic has been blown way out of proportion?
They always blow everything way out of proportion in an election year when the incumbant is running for re-election.
@handyandy saidPandemic that kills so few people is not much of a pandemic.
Does pneumonia represent a pandemic? Is pneumonia highly contagious?
Although covid is contagious, it kills very, very few people 40 or younger. It is really only an issue for people aged older than 65 who can easily stay home since they are generally retired.
Average age of a person killed by covid is well over 75, more like 82 I think.
This thing kills the elderly, so why shut down the entire society?
@eladar saidMaybe the people in charge aren't as smart as you.

@handyandy saidMaybe the people in charge have ulterior motives.

Maybe it was designed to kill the elderly to preserve social security cheques and old age cheques etc etc.
Many countries say they won't have any money for old people by the year 2035.
Why?
Well old people.live longer these days.
Quit working at 65 and live another 35 years getting a cheque from the government adds up when so many old people live longer and longer.
So...what to do?
Hmmm. 🤔
Covid 19 = old fart population control.
^Thats a new thread right there^
@handyandy saidOf course it has.
Do you think the worldwide Covid-19 pandemic has been blown way out of proportion?
The number of deaths is very low and it's old people.
Eladar is right.
@the-pickled-walrus saidThe elderly and those with health issues that would cost much more medical resources than the healthy.
Of course it has.

In April alone, the virus killed close to 200,000 worldwide and around 60,000 in the US.
In one month.
And that was with many countries and almost all of the US taking extreme measures to control its spread. If you had gotten your way, the death toll would have been at least several times higher.
The rest is nonsense as you well know.
