CDC to reverse indoor mask policy, saying fully vaccinated people should wear them indoors in Covid hot spots

Federal health officials still believe fully vaccinated individuals represent a very small amount of transmission, according to the sources. Still, some vaccinated people could be carrying higher levels of the virus than previously understood and potentially transmit the virus to others, they said.

The updated guidance comes ahead of the fall season, when the highly contagious delta variant is expected to cause another surge in new coronavirus cases and many large employers plan to bring workers back to the office.

Good call on their part. Perhaps places like schools where children sit in enclosed rooms many hours a day air filters that remove viruses should be required.

They are admitting the vaccines don't prevent the spread of the virus. If they really represented a very small amount of transmission there would be no need to tell vaccinated people to mask up. They are contradicting themselves like they always do.

The article says this decision was made on the heels of the new Delta variant of COVID.

https://www.nytimes.com/2021/07/25/health/coronavirus-vaccine-refusal.html

The Delta Variant Is a Symptom of a Bigger Threat: Vaccine Refusal

If it wasn't for people like you and conservatives, we may not have this situation. As more mutations continue to occur due to spreads caused by vaccine refusal, the virus will develop more and more resistance to it.

Vaccine refusal is not a problem.

Get vaccinated and you are very safe right?

Do not get a vaccine, get sick and either recover with better than vaccine immunity or die and that is even better immunity. Dead people are not a threat to get sick.

Freedom of choice is more important than people getting vaccinated. Seeing as how little threat this thing is to younger people, I do not see the need for the hype.

I assume you don't have any loved ones who died from COVID yet, right? Because that would easily change your view.

Freedom isn't hindered by vaccines any more than speed limits or laws against drunk driving.

If COVID was like HIV where the majority of those infected are people who choose to have unprotected sex, maybe you'd have a point. But because COVID is so easily spread just by being in the same area as an infected person, this isn't about personal choice; refusing vaccines affect the of freedom others who don't want to get sick or possibly die.

I do not think actually knowing someone who has died from COVID would change my mind. People die, that is a fact of life.

Be it from cancer, car accident, bacterial infection, heart disease, kidney failure or any other way a person could die, death is part of life.

I would rather take my chances on COVID than have to deal with cancer.

"refusing vaccines affect the of freedom others who don't want to get sick or possibly die."

those that dont want to get sick or die should get the vaccine...forcing a vaccinated person to wear a mask to protect the unvaccinated is not right.

That's not purely because of refusal to do so. There's a lack of health equity (the opportunity to receive care just as much as anyone else) in minority communities:

This was already addressed: vaccine refusal contributes to new variants evolving, which have developed resistance to the vaccine.

The earlier a population can become fully vaccinated, the lower the possibility of new variants like the Delta strain.

Didn't you say Trump is responsible for the high amount of vaccinations?

At least be consistent with your BS.

The Trump administration is solely responsible for the vaccine...it is the biden administration that is failing in getting it administered.

Over 320 million doses have been given since Biden took office.

Some "failure".
