i just don't get the point of the olympics having the best atheletic abilities in the world. you know, what does it have to offer others?
so what if i can run the fastest mile... like where am i going to use this? if i'm late to a job i'll take my car.
so what if i can throw a javelin the furtherest. if i want to shoot an animal i'll use a gun, or better still i'll buy a processed part at the supermarket.

yeah, i'd like to see the olympics move with a changing world.

If chess was in the olympics ... then what should be the rules?
how would you play it?
should it be normal gm timelimits? or should it be a larger number of shorter games?

well, if it flashed in-front of your eyes from time to time, then you would take notice. anything totally new gains interest, people talk... curiosity leads to action. like any sport it's the coverage and advertising that makes or breaks it.
i guess the basics of it's success would come down to it's purpose for being in there. if chess could achieve some ...[text shortened]... to feel good about themselves by supporting what they see is good and i think that's good.
And you've exposed yourself as an idiot when you said that other sports are pointless. Of course they are. Just like Chess is.
