@averagejoe1 saidIf you had a gun how would you defend yourself from someone who shot you in the back?
If you ban guns, how can I defend myself. Sorry, maybe I may have missed something, I was out to dinner In Chicago/
Hint: you'd be dead already.

@mghrn55 saidmg...you are who you are. We are who We are. Probably diff cultures, I would think. (suzy would like to make it a color or race thing but I digress). So You-Know-Who is a culture unlike the person who refers to the You Know Whos. I am not a You Know Who. Are you?. Probably not, right? (Suzianne says 'right' a lot). So, when you think of a You Know Who in Chicago, I assume your first thought is "I am not one of those people, I dont know a single one of them.....I dont know nuthin'. I hope this helps. You are sounding like a iib. Be careful;!
Why do you keep saying you-know-who ?
Just tell us. Or are you gutless ?
And while you are all at talking about Chicago, please specify what weapons are being used in this ongoing crime spree ?
Saying "guns" would suffice.
@no1marauder saidSo here is No1 appearing after a protracted absence, saying Warnock ,,a socialist, is his odds-on favorite. Not just from a betting perspective, but gleefully WANTING Warnock to win. You fellers are jawboning here with a socialist. They take stuff (gimme it, free stuf) from people who make stuff. Something to think about. I know,, I hate it too.
Old news.
Take the bet then. I'm certain when Georgians start concentrating on the election and find out all about Walker's past incidents, he is going to lose. The Trump wing of the GOP is really helping Democrats' chances of retaining the Senate; Dr. Oz in Pennsylvania is dead meat as well.

Sen Warnock, do you consider Socialist?

@averagejoe1 saidWhy do psychopaths murder and rape people and keep pieces of skin in their fridges… and you don’t?
So how do you square people like me not having a gun, but criminals do have guns?
Again, look at the rest of the world… are we all to live in fear because there may be a criminal with a gun lurking behind a tree?

@kellyjay saidThe US has about 20,000 or so homicides a year or almost 60 a day.
If gang violence is just normal not worthy of the news, is it any small wonder why many think life is cheap.
It is your and the others' contention that all of them are nationally newsworthy and should be on the nightly news channels?

@averagejoe1 said"Socialist" Warnock already beat an incumbent Republican in Georgia in 2020.

@earl-of-trumps saidYou put two tired false MSM narratives into the same post. Good on ya'.
Sorry that this article is behind a paywall but you can get the gist of the tone of the article
Constant Chicago Mass Shootings Ignored by Corporate Media
[i]As tragic mass shootings at a supermarket in Buffalo, New York, an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas, and a medical building in Tulsa, Oklahoma, continue to dominate print, online, and television news ...[text shortened]... e.

1) It's false to lump all mass shootings into one category and expect "the media" (whatever that means anymore) to cover it all equally. People die all the time, doesn't make the news. But there is of course a big difference between street violence and mowing down 3rd grade kiddos that warrants differential coverage.
2) The idea that media bias against Chicago shootings has to with anything other than money is false. They want to make money, and they are selling an entertainment product. Putting a murder in Chicago on the front page of the LA Times might be the worst business decision ever.
@no1marauder saidMy contention is there is something wrong with us, not the weapons of choice.
The US has about 20,000 or so homicides a year or almost 60 a day.

There isn't some supernatural power that emanates from guns saying use me to
shoot someone. Instead, we get bent out of shape and go off on one another.
@vivify saidThe inordinate number of shootings in Chicago are a sign of a cancer. I'm waiting for *somebody* to realize what is a cause of that cancer. It's gone on for decades and it can be a real hot topic item in here, just not in this thread. Not by me, anyway.
I thought you were worried about Chicago? So not enough for the shootings to stop?
But nothing that goes on in that city, in terms of violence, seems to make the news media go, "Whoa! what is going on here".
@vivify saidThat's like asking the cop how he can defend himself with his gun if someone throws a grenade at him. lol
If you had a gun how would you defend yourself from someone who shot you in the back?
Hint: you'd be dead already.
@no1marauder saidThat would not happen this year, no way. This is a republican year, people are not liking how the democratic party has steered the ship.
"Socialist" Warnock already beat an incumbent Republican in Georgia in 2020.
