@athousandyoung saidIn the very short term, perhaps. But in the medium and long term, NY did quite well after 9/11.

In New York City, the events of September 11, 2001, resulted in the deaths of 2,699 workers. In addition to the human, political, security, and social implications of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center, there were profound impacts on New York City’s economy, its labor market dynamics, ...[text shortened]... n’t imagine parts of the city weren’t shut down for long periods, massive government intervention...
Giuliani is actually a lot like Cuomo in many ways. Powerful, pugnacious and charismatic, but insufferably arrogant and intolerant of any dissent. But Cuomo's record has nothing on it like the drastic crime reduction in NYC in the mid-to-late-90's.
@sh76 saidThe "drastic crime reduction in NYC in the mid to late 90s" was in line with a drastic crime reduction in virtually the entire US which occurred regardless of local policies.

@sh76 saidYeah NY did well because of massive Federal government intervention

Accounting for the $20 Billion
The response to the disaster was remarkable. At the urging
of the New York Congressional Delegation, the President
requested and Congress appropriated approximately $20 billion
to the State of New York to assist the response, recovery, and
rebuilding efforts in the wake of the attacks. Congress pressed
the Federal agencies responsible for administering the disaster
relief to expeditiously process funds so that the funds would
reach those impacted by the attacks as quickly as possible, and
granted the agencies greater flexibility to do so.
In the short term New York had massive trouble with COVID but today (medium-long term) it's doing better than Montana, Wyoming, Wisconsin, Nevada, California, Kansas, Texas and especially Florida and Louisiana, and more:

I think it is possible Coumo is the victim of a sexual harassment pile on effect. The more news reports of a person being accused of sexual harassment the more women come forward with false allegations.
That is why Trump and Biden were given the benefit of the doubt, right? If not, Biden should resign.

Why no investigation of Biden? Don't we deserve an investigation?
Why an investigation of Cuomo, but not Biden?
No mo Cuomo!

Problem is that NY will replace him with a rabid frothing at the mouth leftist...Something that Cuomo was only half heartedly pretending to be for the cameras...like most of the actual democratic party here.

Several.times endorsed by the NRA and the Conservative Party, opposed undocumented immigrants getting drivers licenses, voted for a federal balanced budget amendment, etc.

@joe-shmo
If that is the case, you castigate Cuomo for the deaths in nursing homes, then you must HATE Trump because he is 100% responsible for at least HALF the 600, 000 + deaths from C19.
Saying the virus will go to zero cases by memorial day and all the rest of the downplay he pulled for the entire year.
If you think otherwise show me your proof of Trump's innocence.
@metal-brain saidBiden never had criminal charges filed against him, only an accusation.

@Metal-Brain
Well why don't YOU start such an investigation? Maybe it will make your god king look better.
Don't count on it.
BTW, Trump keeps a book written by Adolf Hitler, Mein Kampf, he has a copy of that book right by his night stand.
Oh wait, I forgot, FAKE NEWS.
