Fox probably has an appearance standard covering hair, make-up, dress, boob jobs, etc. and trained make-up artists in their studios.
A couple of things they probably all have in common.
1. They don't think it is a service to womanhood to look as much like a man as possible.
2. Having a job that requires them to appear on national television they think it's worthwhile to make a modest effort to look nice.
I imagine both of these points alienates those on the left immensely.
And listening to all this petty criticism, I just shake my head and wonder how so much hatred can come from people who no doubt consider themselves the more tolerant ones.

I suppose I'm on the left, and I like the look of the women on local news desks (who generally would love national exposure). But this might explain it -- my daughter, my nieces and their friends, some of them in the entertainment business such as radio DJ and soap opera actress and fitness trainer in Beverly Hills and others who deal with the public such as restaurant owner and CPA and owner of a PR firm, keep themselves looking this way except when at home or hanging out with genuine friends or in one case, running marathons. So yes, women who look like this have things in common, one is dressing to the current public tastes.

I don't think I've ever heard of anyone who thinks that it's a service to womanhood to look as much like a man as possible.
I also think plenty of female reporters and anchors (on fox and otherwise) do make more than modest efforts to look nice.
I guess I'm not on the "left" that you are referring to then.
