Fidel Castro, one of the truly remarkable men of the 20th Century, is set to undergo surgery for some gastrointestinial problems. I'm sure the whole RHP community joins me in wishing him a speedy recovery.😀

Fidel starting from a jungle base with only seven survivors from his landing back in Cuba after being exiled overthrew the corrupt and brut ...[text shortened]... pered rich dimwit who unfortunately is our figurehead.

So get well soon, Fidel!
fidel is a murderer and massive civil rights violater and you like him. America is bad and Fidel is good, man are you screwed up. why don't you move to Cuba? You won't because you are an ignorant hypocrit.

Fidel's a pussycat; he even let the Bay of Pigs traitors go free. Hypocrite?? Not at all; Fidel a bonafide revolutionary has far more in common with the Framers of this country than our elitist, dimwit president and the rich fat cats who run him.

Those facts imply:
- That AI would prefer being allowed on the country to make their reports.
- That Fidel would prefer them not being allowed on the country.

Every report claims that they were not allowed in the country since 1988 and that their requests to be allowed were ignored by the Government.

Your claims that AI can pe citly admitting that I'm right.

That we would know more about Cuba if Fidel allowed AI in.
A non sequitur as usual. I didn't claim that AI could do their "duties EXACTLY THE SAME WAY"; I said that you haven't given any evidence that we'd know any more of relevance if they were allowed on the ground. Claiming they would over and over again as you are doing doesn't make it so.

You are also hijacking the thread with a trivial point unless you are actually asserting that there is something Fidel is hiding. BTW, do you know why AI was allowed in Cuba until 1988 and not since? Maybe you should look it up since you're soooooooooooo interested in this minutiae.

BTW, the US makes it a crime for its citizens to go to Cuba.

Your conclusion requires the premise that both the AI and Fidel are acting on a whim, mine implies only that they are rational.

I presented evidence in support of my case, you presented none. You keep repeating yourself without presenting any evidence and by claiming that I'm repeating myself you are obviously attempting to remove me the argument that you are repeating yourself.

Is AI acting out on a whim by requesting their presence? If not, how do you explain that request without conspiracy theories?

Else, do you agree with Fidel's decision to block their entry?

Edit - As for claiming you didn't say EXACTLY THE SAME WAY, it was implicit by your claim that there wouldn't be any difference. And also by your refutation of my claim that there would be one.

It seems our more infantile posters always seem to think they're "winning" the argument when all they are doing is repeating themselves. Parrots can do this, but that doesn't mean they're making rational points.

Your implication that Fidel is hiding some deep dark secret by preventing AI from entering Cuba is right up there with the usual type ...[text shortened]... over again the same thing and don't forget to pat yourself on the back on your cleverness.
Do you really think most people are going to believe there is nothing more to the story? Your argument does not stand the test of common sense.

Your analogy to astronomers : Do you think they would have alot more info if they visited the planet? Do you think they want to go?

Lets just take everyone's word for what is going on in Cuba. Lets not actually get any first hand, unbiased accounts. Lets just take YOUR word for it. Do you really think your argument makes any common sense, and that you have ANY credability left?

Accurate does not mean complete. Why else would Fidel prevent them from entering?

My point stands, if Fidel let them in we might know something more.

As for the slaughterings, I don't support anyone that has done that, so that point is irrelevant.
Dont bother argueing with this guy - common sense is not important to him. Any rational person easily assumes that one has to have a first hand account of anything to know the truth.

Since I don't know why Fidel stopped allowing AI in, I don't have enough info to know whether I agree with his decision or not. Cuba does not bar foreigners from visiting as a general rule; I'm sure you as a citizen of Portugal could go if you want (I has an American cannot, at least legally but that's because of my government, not Fidel's). Thus, the idea that Fidel is trying to hide something based on his ban of one group is unwarranted and based on mere speculation.

You made no refutation of any claim: that requires evidence or at least a rational argument.

Sure, I think there'd be a lot of travel to Cuba if the ban was lifted.

Why not? I have a colleague who went to Cuba for a few weeks with a work brigade from the Nordic countries. It had been her dream to do that since she was a teenager, and obviously she wasn't the only one. Why should Americans be so different?

The evidence and the rational argument are both there. Your repeated claims that they aren't doesn't make them so.

No Portuguese can go as part of an AI team so your argument that I can go there is, again, a strawman and irrelevant to the point.

What was she going to do there? (I don't want the specifics if you don't want to say them)

I can't give specifics anyway because I don't know exactly what she did, but I think it was mostly physical work like farming or building.
