Strike one for the good guys. I didn't like the last sentence though.
They PROBABLY won't be charged (the couple). How could they even bring up the subject of the couple maybe being at fault? These dudes smashed through the front door and were inside the home and it ended up on the front lawn, and the dude got killed with his own weapon, the married couple didn't even have a gun so kudo's to them I say and one less riff raff to deal with.

Thank God they live in America! Had they been on British soil, things would have gone a lot differently at the end of the confrontation. They would have been arrested and charged with murder and with intent to inflict bodily harm...and they would have lost, gone to jail and payed a staggeringly large award to the two gentlemen who broke into their home and assaulted them! You see, in England, only the government has the right to use force; they have a monopoly on its use and Heaven help anyone who tries to defend himself or another. That's why crime in England is soaring while crime on the rest of the Continent and in America, is going down. God save the Queen! She ain't no human bean.

I'd hope that people of every political persuasion would agree that it's reasonable force in self-defence.

That for sure wouldn't happen here, that is indeed liberalism gone wild.
Lets see, a guy comes up to me with a gun, and all I can use to defend myself is a briefcase, Yeah, that makes sense. Oh, don't forget about your keys, that is a devastating weapon.
